MY NAP OBVIOUSLY NEEDS A WINNER AND RUNS IN SCOTLAND AT HAMILTON!

Likeable type who has been in great form all season; back in the winners enclosure here in July and followed up gamely next time; clear with the winner over C&D last month and step back in trip caught him out latest; can win again.

I tweeted about CLAN JOCK being given a tentative ride when beaten just a neck by stablemate Ayr Poet here last month. He ran on well but the drop back in trip looked to catch him out. He goes back up to a mile and a half here and has plenty in favour. He is only 2lb higher but if he brings his best form then this race really should be his for the taking. He had Ralphy Boy Two a neck behind when winning in July and they might be the 1-2 again. Haven Lady arrives in winning form having scored at Newcastle last time and looks best of the rest. Both Simple Star and Lochnaver might not be far away but both have ground to make up with the selection on form from this season.

Hamilton 4.30 A La Francaise (best price 11/4)

Postponed filly who found it an inadequate test on return at Lingfield but shaped better here last month; improved again up in trip at Southwell, running on strongly; more to come as her stamina is drawn out so likeable claims.

There was lots to like about the way A LA FRANCAISE finished off her race at Southwell last time and if she improves again back up in trip she looks to have a great chance of finally making the breakthrough. She looks well handicapped off a mark of just 65 and it’s no surprise to see her figuring at the top of the market. Salve Japan was a good second at Carlisle but still looked quite rough around the edges so might need a bit more time to be seen to best effect. Super Stars was back to form when third at Brighton and is another one to note but I still think he’ll need to find more to trouble the selection. Kanzino won at Ripon but didn’t need to improve to take that and this is tougher now handicapping.
