MY US NAP RUNS IN RACE 7 AT THISTLEDOWN ON TUESDAY NIGHT!

Race 7 Thistledown 8.50 Blushing Betty (best price 5/2)

Likeable mare who has won 4 of her last 5 and was nicely on top having come from off the speed to win over track and trip last month; good chance she can reverse form with Queenofcatniphill tonight.

This looks a straight shootout to me and I’m keen to side with BLUSHING BETTY who is at the top of her game and should be hard to beat over this trip. She was beaten half a length by Queenofcatniphill at the start of last month but that rival got first run and the drop back half a furlong should help the selection too. She has now won 4 of her last 5 and if in the same form is the one to beat. Bareback Fun has ground to make up with both the market principals so is hard to recommend. Wouldn’t want to see her get an easy lead though albeit she was thrashed 5 lengths by the selection last time. Hasty Lady is overpriced but there is only 2 places up for grabs with the 7 runners here.

Race 5 Fort Erie 7.57 Stribling (best price 5/2)

Improving with experience judging by the way he won at Woodbine back in June and then followed up gamely here last month; excuses last time but that run best forgiven; good chance to get back on track.

I’m definitely going to chance STRIBLING bouncing back to form here. That win on penultimate start was promising and back on turf he remains open to further improvement. If he gets on the speed and dictates I’m not sure they’ll be good enough to get to him. Wild River Wolf ran well when second on penultimate start but failed to back that up beaten heavily up in trip last time. Back down to 5f if that helps he could be the danger but he’ll be conceding first run that’s for sure. Maverick Man won over track and trip last time and if he builds on that he is another one that shouldn’t be too far away but he does have a short break to overcome so might lack race-fitness against the selection.
