Newmarket 1.31

A really open race but I do think there is a Group level filly in here. AL HUSN has won her last 3 races since stepping up to a mile and I think there will be plenty more to come over 10 furlongs. She has won each start with a bit in hand and has just a 6lb penalty to cope with here. If she is as good as I think she is she will be hard to beat and so will hopefully get my ITV Racing Lucky 15 off to a perfect start.

I wouldn’t usually have a saver when I really like the selection but WHITE WILLOW at 20/1 is way too big. She has gone close on her last 3 runs over this trip and it won’t be long until she gets her head in front so worth backing to hit the frame at least.

Ascot 1.51

Make no mistake this is massively competitive but I think it might be worth chancing one at a price in CAME FROM THE DARK for Ed Walker. He was 2 from 4 last season and recorded some very solid form in the process. Things haven’t gone to plan in 2 starts at Newmarket and Haydock this season but he has had a wind op since. His sole run at this track saw him get within a neck of victory (in soft ground too) and I think he is overpriced.

Dangers a plenty obviously and Manaccan only went down narrowly at Newbury but for me he wasn’t closing anymore at the line and might need more here (and is favourite). King’s Lynn will be primed for this so should probably be outright favourite in my book.

Newmarket 2.06

Massive field once again for this race with 28 set to head to post. Even though he gives weight away to most of these AMICHI is the one they all have to beat. He has won his last 2 taking a big step forward between runs. His win in August rates well on form and the clock and if in the same form he has to go close. The bookies haven’t taken much of a chance with his price otherwise he’d have been put forward as one of my best bets.

There are plenty of dangers as you would expect in a field this size with Skysail very unexposed having got his head in front last time and Prairie Falcon who is in good form at a bigger price. Union Court also deserves a mention with that Ayr form working out.

Ascot 2.25

I rate Kyprios highly so for HAMISH to get within a length of him at the Curragh last month was an excellent run. The front pair pulled 7 lengths clear from Search For A Song so the form looks really strong. He carries a 3lb penalty and drops back to a mile and a half but this is easier and he is clearly the one to beat. High Definition should put good pace to the race and that will help him and avoid it turning tactical.

Cresta ran well when fifth in the Gordon Stakes and then confirmed that to win nicely at Listed level last month. He likely has more to come so looks the biggest danger to the selection but still has it to prove up in grade. Farhan possibly best of the rest.

Newmarket 2.42

This doesn’t look as deep as usual especially with some of these having questions to answer. SAFFRON BEACH looks a solid option as she rarely runs a bad race. She won this last year and has won a Group 1 and 2 since then. She was beaten at Leopardstown last time out but a repeat of that form should see her hard to beat again here. She will go forward under William Buick and just like last year should be tough to pass late on.

Homeless Songs is clearly talented but she just didn’t have the same spark last time out when behind the selection. It could have been the layoff she had or the soft ground. There is rain around again so it won’t be that quick so I much prefer the versatile selection.

Laurel is a total unknown coming here off the back of 2 wins in very average races and I just can’t have her despite her potential. Prosperous Voyage at her best would have place claims at least but she isn’t reliable.

Ascot 3.00

It often pays to back something near the top of the betting for this race so even as competitive as it looks I think I’m going to keep ROHAAN on side especially at Ascot. He obviously won the Wokingham twice over this C&D and again ran a big race in defeat when third to Minzaal in the Betfair Sprint Cup Stakes. Back at this track he looks to have plenty going for him once more and even 7/2 could look a good price.

Given the each way places on offer I’m also going to have a saver on VADREAM for Charlie Fellowes. This filly was only beaten a head in the cheekpieces at Newmarket and while she blew out last time she did win this last year. Big shout if bouncing back here!

Redcar 3.21

The prize money on offer has attracted a big field but perhaps not the quality to go with it. COLD CASE is clear of these on ratings and is the one to beat. His run behind the classy Noble Style looks very good on paper and he showed just how good he is winning a valuable race at Doncaster last time. He was keen and still knuckled down to win. If he is in that form he will go close and should still improve again.

Barefoot Angel won a Group 3 last time at Ayr making it 2 wins from 3 starts and rates the main danger here. Of the rest Holguin has ground to make up with the selection on that last piece of form but also looks to be going the right way so might not be far away.

Ascot 3.36

It doesn’t get much easier to cap off ITV Racing on Saturday so I’ve backed two against the field. My main play would have to be Bated Breath gelding FRESH for James Fanshawe. He has won two fiercely competitive handicaps the last twice and came from well back last time. He is 1lb higher and with conditions likely ideal the hat-trick very much could be on the cards. If he gets the gaps he should be hitting the line best.

I’m also backing SILENT FILM at around 18/1! This son of New Approach was only beaten a neck by Fresh over C&D last time and looked well suited by this track to me so represents decent value given he is likely to be up with the pace once more.
