Race 9 Belmont At The Big A 10.13 I’m Very Busy (1/1)
Exciting colt who came from well off the pace to win impressively on debut at Saratoga back in August; showed a smart turn of foot that day; sure to improve and looks one to keep firmly on side here.
I really liked the way I’M VERY BUSY took dead aim at the leader and picked up readily to go past on debut at Saratoga. He clearly has plenty of ability and looks sure to improve from that initial experience. This is obviously much tougher pitched into a Grade 2 now but connections must be pretty hopeful he can take the step up in his stride. Battle Of Normandy looks the main threat as he won on debut and then missed just a neck in a Grade 3 last time. If he improves he should give the selection something to think about. Major Dude won on debut on dirt but has been beaten twice since. This looks tougher so unless he improves for the switch to turf he might find himself up against it here.

Race 4 Santa Anita 10.38 Midnight Memories (7/4)
Progressive filly who has won 3 from 4; back in the winners enclosure clocking a career best to win a Grade 3 at Del Mar; should keep improving and while this is tougher again she has more to come.
Bar that run on penultimate start where the trip probably caught her out MIDNIGHT MEMORIES has answered every call so far winning 3 from 4. She impressed holding on gamely in a Grade 3 at Del Mar last month and with this step up in trip only going to see her improve again she is definitely one to keep on the right side of today and going forward you’d imagine. Soothsay has also won 3 from 4 before being beaten 19 lengths at the top level on reappearance. If she comes on from that she could emerge as the danger. Samurai Charm has more experience on side but only missed a head last time and is knocking on the door again. Likely vulnerable to an improver but still has to be respected.
