Race 7 Philadelphia 8.37 Pegasus In Flight (best price 6/4)

Likeable mare who was back to her best brushing rivals aside easily on penultimate start and then just as convincing up to this level over 6f last time; hard to oppose back up to a mile so the hat-trick beckons now.

The US NAP was back in the winners enclosure last night so hopefully I can follow up at Philadelphia on Tuesday night. PEGASUS IN FLIGHT is chasing a hat-trick and with the step back up to a mile sure to suit she gets a confident vote to come away with the prize. That is solid form last time and this isn’t much tougher so her chance looks to be obvious to me. Moonchild won by 13 lengths 3 starts back but has been beaten twice since and did struggle last time looking like a busy period had caught up with her. If she bounces back she is the danger but enough to prove on the balance. Purrfect Mistress is still relatively unexposed and might fare best of the rest but also needs to return to form.

Race 6 Fort Erie 8.25 Awesome Miner (best price 9/4)

Tough sort who has won 2 of his last 3 and was particularly impressive last time in what looked a stronger race than this; hard to oppose in current form and should go forward and look to boss these from the off.

Great chance for AWESOME MINER to salute the judge once more. He hacked up last time and this is easier if anything so if he gets a soft lead once more I don’t think he’ll be caught here. I’m pleasantly surprised to see 9/4 on offer as I thought he’d be shorter. Wonnefrac is chasing a four-timer and has to be feared but this is tougher company so he’ll need more to extend his winning sequence. Tomato Bill hasn’t been beaten far in recent starts and is another one that is unlikely to be too far away. Chasing Vinny went close last time and could run a big race so definitely not ruled out. The rest look to have enough to prove but Tragically Quewick might go better than his odds are suggesting.
