NAP – My best tip of the day

Improving colt who lengthened in good style to get back to winning ways at Epsom last month, making all the running; up 6lb but almost certainly more to come and with Buick up should be able to follow up.
It was good to get the NAP back to winning ways yesterday and with the double landing at a nice price I really feel like I might have turned a corner now. I’m going to stay on the Flat on Sunday for my best bet and BENACRE looks a colt to keep on side. This son of Australia has won 2 of his 4 starts now and impressed at Epsom last time. He handled the undulations there well so I have no concerns about him on this track. He really lengthened well and under likely aggressive tactics again I think he’ll be hard to peg back. Buick is riding with so much confidence right now and gets the leg up so there is plenty in his favour. Eminency should also have a bright future and is the obvious danger.

Ffos Las 1.25 Astra Via (best price 2/1)
Likeable mare who has plenty of experience over fences and really impressed winning ears pricked at Leicester earlier in the year; beaten a few times since but can fire while fresh and this winnable too.
No great surprise to see ASTRA VIA strong in the betting for this as it does lack quality. She does struggle for consistency but when she is good she looks pretty useful over fences. She showed that winning ears pricked at Leicester back in March and given the opposition and the fact she has won fresh before I think on the balance she is worth chancing. Howdilyoudo looks the obvious pace in the race and she should go forward which is good as we wouldn’t want it to turn tactical in any way. Runasimi River is probably the danger as she is down in grade on debut for Peter Bowen. She does usually need her first run of the season though so that would have to be a negative for her.
