MY US NAP RUNS IN RACE 3 AT WOODBINE ON FRIDAY NIGHT!
Race 3 Woodbine 7.22 A Touch Of Red (best price 2/1)
Promising filly who made a bright start winning impressively by 5 lengths on debut here last month; extra furlong should see her improve again and she looks well placed to make it a perfect 2-2; one to keep safe.
The way A TOUCH OF RED drew off here last month was impressive and with further improvement on the cards going up a furlong in trip she should be up to winning again. She doesn’t lack speed so I expect her to be in the firing line from the off and hopefully she stays there. The danger is probably Ancient Spirit who has won both starts to date but on turf. She has more to come but will need to transfer that form to this surface and that might just catch her out. Anam Cara won her first two starts but was behind Ancient Spirit on turf last time and has ground to make up even if she will be suited by coming back on this surface. Holiday With Amy was only fifth on debut and needs to improve a fair bit.

Race 8 Belmont At The Big A 9.22 Poppy Flower (best price 11/4)
Likeable filly who has won 2 of her last 4 and wasn’t disgraced in a good race at Kentucky Downs last month, beaten less than 3 lengths; unexposed so can improve again and big chance of winning this if she does.
Another decent race but I think POPPY FLOWER is a standout. She has won 2 of her last 4 and likely improved in defeat in a really tough race last time. She can keep progressing and it’s no surprise to see her trading as favourite here. Zelda comes over from France and likely has more to come but might need this first start since July. Wonka only finished fifth last time but was beaten narrowly so should go well for a long way. Gal In A Rush is yet to get her head in front but she has some good form to her name and continues to perform consistently. Sail By was only beaten 3 lengths last time but will need to better than albeit in calmer waters here but there are likely quite a few improvers as it looks a good contest.
