NAP – My best tip of the day
Newcastle 6.45 Quantico (best price 11/8)
Promising sort who justified strong market support to make a winning debut at Chelmsford back in August, running on well at the finish; second and third won next time out; gelded since and will keep improving.
My NAP was back in the winners enclosure yesterday and hopefully I can follow up at Newcastle on Friday. QUANTICO created a good impression winning on debut at Chelmsford back in August and with natural improvement from that looks well placed to make it a perfect 2-2 here. That race has thrown up a couple of winners since so the form has plenty of substance in the context of this race. He might even get a soft lead here and is expected to have too much for this field. Borgi also made a winning debut at Southwell in February and ran well when second to King Of Time at Lingfield so will be a danger here if fit enough. Heretic looks the most interesting of the debutants.

Fakenham 1.30 Sophosc (best price 11/8)
Likeable type who did well to make a winning hurdles debut at Plumpton given he was hampered by a faller; good attitude under pressure to make it 2-2 at Warwick last month; likely more to come now handicapping.
This doesn’t look the strongest of handicap hurdles so I’m hoping SOPHOSC can remain unbeaten over timber. He is 2-2 and impressed at Warwick. An opening mark of 112 should be within reach and he won’t mind if it becomes a battle given the amount he has found the last twice. Cawthorne Lad was a good second to Ted’s Friend at Worcester last time and a similar run like that with the cheekpieces back on would likely see him as the main threat. Rhebus Road did have quite a bit of a reputation and went some way to cementing that winning by 6 lengths at Huntingdon but failed to back that up when last of 3 at Warwick last time and now comes here with a point to prove on reappearance.
