Race 5 Belmont At The Big A 7.44 Cupid’s Heart (best price 1/1)
Promising filly who made a bright start winning impressively on debut and was back in the winners enclosure on reappearance at Saratoga last month; can improve again and should make it 3 from 4 here.
Hard to look past the progressive CUPID’S HEART at Belmont tonight. She bolted up at Saratoga on return and looks a filly going the right way now. She will improve again for the extra furlong and it’s no surprise to see her trading as a warm favourite. Khali Magic ran well when beaten just half a length at this level last time and likely won’t be far away once more. Bustlin Bay impressed 3 starts back but has gone off the boil a bit now and will need to bounce back as this looks a decent race. Miss Alacrity is unexposed but was down the field behind Khali Magic last time so has ground to make up with that rival to have a chance of winning this. Captainsdaughter won last time but this looks tougher.

Race 9 Woodbine 10.42 Ironstone (best price 15/8)
Likeable colt who missed less than a length when last seen and won’t need to find much improvement on that to get his head back in front; still open to further improvement and will likely prove hard to catch.
Under likely aggressive tactics IRONSTONE might not come back to them here. He was only caught late last time and he looks to be coming nicely to the boil now. He can still improve and looks comfortably the most likely winner. Luckman is chasing a five-timer so could emerge as the main danger in his current form but I think he lacks the potential of the favourite so might just come up short. Mannix was behind the latter on turf last time and also has ground to make up with the selection on that penultimate start. The Minister has only actually run a handful of times but was disappointing last time so will need to bounce back from that to have a say here. Bringer Of Rain looks to be up against it.
