MY US NAP RUNS IN RACE 2 AT WOODBINE ON THURSDAY NIGHT!
Race 2 Woodbine 10.23 Stormy Silence (best price 7/4)
Promising filly who made a bright start winning on debut and then followed up convincingly over 6f here back in the summer; denied just half a length on return and step back up in trip should see her win again.
I think it’s safe to say things didn’t go to plan Stateside last night. I had been on a good run prior to that though so hopefully can get back on track quickly this evening. STORMY SILENCE won her first two starts in the style of a progressive filly and while she was beaten last time she lacked a recent run and only missed by half a length. She can improve again and if she does she should be too good for these. Ya Mar has good form to her name after just 7 starts and she is the biggest danger to the favourite. Gamble’s Silver has acquitted herself well in defeat since winning here back in June and she looks comfortably best of the rest but will likely need to find more for win purposes.
NB – Second best selection of the day
MY US NEXT BEST RUNS IN RACE 8 AT LAUREL PARK ON THURSDAY NIGHT!
Race 8 Laurel Park 8.57 Post Time (best price 5/2)
Likeable colt who created quite a big impression winning on debut here earlier this month and if he improves again he looks well placed to make it a perfect 2-2; should get a good target to run down; obvious shout.
I fancy POST TIME to remain unbeaten at Laurel Park on Thursday night. He won as he liked on debut and with natural improvement will take a lot of stopping here. Roan Burgundy won on debut and would be a big threat off the back of that but he has suffered a heavy defeat since albeit in a very good race but he has a bit to prove now. Valenzan Day looks a greater threat as he impressed winning easily last time and if getting the extra furlong should put up the most resistance. Noah Chance has only had 3 starts and won last time so while he’ll need to step up to get involved he shouldn’t be entirely ruled out. Fun Lovin Criminal hacked up on second start but has failed to back that up since.
