Race 4 Zia Park 7.21 Time Is Precious (best price 11/8)

Tough mare who showed a great attitude to get back in the winners enclosure over 6f last time, 2 lengths too strong at the line; hard to beat if bringing that sort of form to the table and should take the beating.

My US NAP landed last night so hopefully more of the same this evening as I head to Zia Park for my best bet. TIME IS PRECIOUS won well last time and with plenty of pace on again here she should be well positioned to follow up. Suzy Q has finished behind Impeaching and Ziva Da’vid the last twice so has a bit of ground to make up to be a danger but should still be respected. Latenite Slewzy won nicely at this level last time and looks the main threat to the favourite. Sayward is slowly coming to the boil again but didn’t find a huge amount off the bridle last time and that would have to be slightly concerning. Carmon’s Dance is a big price but needs to rediscover her best form to figure.

Race 6 Mahoning Valley 7.05 Scarlett’s Awish (best price 13/8)

Likeable filly who has taken her form up a notch recently winning 2 of her last 3 and edging clear in a better race than this at Thistledown last time; hard to beat if running to that sort of level again so big shout.

My best bets have been going well Stateside so I’ll be looking for another winner with the Breeders’ Cup on the horizon. SCARLETT’S AWISH has won 2 of her last 3 and with further improvement a distinct possibility I think she can go in again here. This is actually easier than that last contest so she should have all the answers. She likes to push forward and should be able to get the better of these. Sweet Betty Joyce was only beaten 2 lengths last time and looks the biggest danger on form. Congrats Jensen was behind Lady Power last time so she has ground to make up to be a serious threat to the market principals here. J J’s Fancy is also capable of getting involved but needs a career best.
