MY US NAP RUNS IN RACE 7 AT GULFSTREAM PARK ON SUNDAY NIGHT!
Race 7 Gulfstream Park 8.33 The Distractor (best price 10/11)
Progressive sort who was back to his best winning readily over a furlong further here last month; won 2 of his last 3 now and this easier if anything so should prove difficult to beat once more; worth keeping on side.
With 4 wins from his last 6 starts the improving THE DISTRACTOR should be able to salute the judge again at Gulfstream tonight. He was nicely on top last time and moving back up in trip is only going to help. He has the best form in the book and comes out favourably on the clock so hard to oppose. Absolute Grit was impressive 3 starts back in the summer but went off the boil after that. Given time since he could be the danger if managing to bounce back here but he doesn’t have the best record fresh which was enough to oppose. Legal Deal has won 2 of his last 3 and could be a greater threat if building on the last run once more. Privet Moon has ground to make up but place claims.
Race 6 Woodbine 8.58 Ironstone (best price 5/4)
Promising colt who improved again to win well in a Grade 3 here last month, finding plenty off the bridle; remains open to further improvement yet and should confirm that recent form with The Minkster.
I’m confident IRONSTONE will take a lot of beating at Woodbine tonight. He was impressive with how much he found last time reversing previous form with The Minkster and should be up to confirming that tonight. He is still unexposed and is hard to get away from. The Minkster is also lightly raced and likely has more to come so will threaten again and probably finish second. Elusive Knight has won 2 of his last 3 and shouldn’t be underestimated but he has already been gelded and probably lacks the potential of the front pair in here albeit could still run well. Dun Drum showed a good attitude to prevail narrowly last time but needs to build on that in what looks a tough ask here.
