Argentina will be pleased to start their World Cup campaign against Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. These two nations have only met twice in their history with Argentina winning the first encounter back in 1992 and then more recently the pair played out a goalless draw back in 2012. Argentina will fancy their chances of putting a fair few past 51 ranked Saudi Arabia to kick-off their campaign.
Argentina arrive in terrific form having not lost since Brazil beat them back in 2019 (35 game unbeaten streak). They have won their last 5 straight scoring a phenomenal 16 goals and conceding zero. Messi has scored 10 goals in the last 4 games alone and must be delighted to be heading into his final World Cup at the top of his game.
Saudi Arabia in comparison have been struggling. Not only to win games but to score goals as well. They recently lost 1-0 to Croatia and before that drew 1-1 with Panama. They have only scored 3 goals in their last 5 games and look firmly up against it. They will be looking to keep things tight here but it is hard to see them shutting out Argentina. They will look to later matches with Poland and Mexico in an attempt to qualify but no surprise to see them as the outsiders in Group C.
