Race 7 Finger Lakes 8.09 Zircon (best price 6/4)

Improving fast judging by the way he got on top over 6f here last time, finding plenty in the closing stages to prevail; slight step back in trip holds no fears and with more to come good chance he can complete the hat-trick.

With 5 wins from 7 starts the progressive ZIRCON looks capable of completing the hat-trick at Finger Lakes tonight. I loved his attitude last time and given this is no tougher if he improves again he should be tough to beat here. Dee Bo has won 2 of his last 3 and might emerge as the main danger to the favourite. He also asserted in good style last time and while he is more exposed than the selection if he runs his race again he should be finishing second. Trigger Pull had been in good form but has finished behind the selection in the past and was down the field behind Dee Bo last time so has ground to make up. Warriors Revenge has won his last 6 but goes up in grade again so this tougher.

Race 10 Zia Park 11.03 Apprehend (best price 6/4)

Promising colt who powered away to win impressively at Santa Anita last month over a mile; scope to keep improving for a while yet so big chance he can follow up here and looks one to keep firmly on side for now.

Hard to look past APPREHEND at Zia Park tonight. This colt won head in chest at Santa Anita last month and that was a really impressive performance. He should keep improving and looks a nice prospect. Perfect Flight showed a good attitude to hold on at Santa Anita last month and then ran well in defeat when third in a Grade 2 on turf last time. If he runs to that sort of level again he looks the one most likely to give the selection most to think about and should finish second. Great Escape won a Grade 3 in good style before disappointing last time. If bouncing back could fare best of the rest. Senate Chamber is also unexposed but will need to better that third in a lesser grade last time.
