MY US NAP RUNS IN RACE 6 AT GOLDEN GATE FIELDS ON THURSDAY NIGHT!
Race 6 Golden Gate Fields 9.44 Derrygoolin (best price 1/1)
Progressive filly who was back to winning ways making the breakthrough on turf over track and trip 3 starts back and then showed a good attitude to follow up over a mile here last month; narrowly failed latest; more to come.
The improving DERRYGOOLIN was a head away from landing a hat-trick here last time and with another few strides she would have got up. This is no tougher and she is still unexposed so with further improvement to come she can make it 3 wins from her last 4 starts. Rev Ree was behind the selection when fourth last time so has ground to make up and I can’t even see her closing the gap let alone turning the form around. Vronsky Feint showed a real likeable attitude to get up here last month and looks the danger off the back of that but was behind the selection on turf before that so also strictly held on recent evidence. Beignet is flying but on dirt so needs to transfer that to turf here.

Race 7 Laurel Park 7.37 Nautilus (best price 2/1)
Tough sort who has won 3 of his last 5 and only missed a neck here last time; remains relatively unexposed so good chance he can improve and reverse form with Forloveofcountry; definitely worth siding with.
Given how wide NAUTILUS came he did well to get within a neck of victory last time. Forloveofcountry is more exposed than the selection too so with a better trip I think the selection can reverse that recent form. I do think the pair will battle this one out again though. Walk Away Joe was back in third that day and has been consistent all season so shouldn’t be too far away either. Seiche won on penultimate start and didn’t get the best trip last time so is also respected. Welling has won 2 of his last 3 but at a lesser level last time and being a 6yo is more exposed so might find something improve past him and the selection fits the bill. Goodluckchuck has form that ties in with the latter so needs more.
