MY US NAP RUNS IN RACE 2 AT DEL MAR ON SUNDAY NIGHT!

Race 2 Del Mar 9.00 Geezer (best price 6/5)

Improving fast judging by the way he bolted up by 8 lengths at Santa Anita over this trip last month; won 2 of his 3 starts now and obviously remains hugely unexposed so with more to come should land the hat-trick.

Great chance for GEEZER to make it 3 wins from 4 starts. He hacked up at Santa Anita last time and while this is a step up in grade again he looks to be going the right way now. He should keep progressing for a while yet and can win this before going on to even better things in time. Midnight Lightning looks the pace in the race and he should go hard early which will suit the favourite. Fun Money won on turf on penultimate start but was beaten back on dirt last time albeit a length back in third. This drop back to 6f should see her emerge as the main danger to the selection. Mystic Flyer impressed winning on second start but was held in third last time and needs to better that to land a blow here.

Race 10 Gulfstream Park 9.54 Hell’s Kitten (best price 2/1)

Promising colt who left previous form on turf behind to get within a head of victory on this surface over track and trip last month; can build on that run and with improvement to come looks the most likely winner.

Hard to look past HELL’S KITTEN at Gulfstream tonight as he has fairly obvious claims. He clocked a career best over C&D last time missing by just a head and with more to come on what is just his fifth start he should have the gears to see off this field. Corporate Affair was a place behind the selection and has since been beaten 3 lengths into fourth over C&D again last time. Plenty of experience now but might still be the danger. Can’t Be Broken continues to knock on the door and again ran well last time. He might shape well for much of the race but ultimately is likely to find one or two too good at the business end. Knights Bird ran well last time but needs more back on a synthetic surface here.
