Hard to see how Brazil don’t win this group after eventually easing past Serbia 2-0 thanks to some magic from Richarlison. With Switzerland beating Cameroon 1-0 that makes this clash between the latter and Serbia an absolute must win.
Failure to secure 3 points would leave both sides needing wins against Brazil and Switzerland which is hard to envisage. As a result I think we might have an open game here which I can see suiting Serbia.
Serbia had scored 13 goals in just 4 games prior to drawing a blank against Brazil and I think they can get their World Cup back on track here against a Cameroon side that looked pretty toothless up front against Switzerland. Not to mention the latter have now lost each of their last 7 World Cup group stage matches it is hard to see how they come out of this unscathed. Mitrovic was lively without being dangerous but should have a lot more time and space here and can make his presence felt.
Unlike Serbia Cameroon have struggled to hit goals scoring just 2 in their last 4 in the run up to Qatar. In fact their last 10 International matches have all gone under 2.5 goals so no surprise to see Serbia a shade of odds-on for this. I think Serbia will win but given what is at stake this might be more open than the stats are suggesting so backing Serbia to win and over 2.5 goals could be the value.
