A moment of Messi magic has very much got Argentina’s World Cup back on track following that shock opening defeat at the hands of Saudi Arabia. They were kept quiet for 63 minutes against Mexico but eventually found the breakthrough and then doubled their lead late on thanks for Fernandez. They are in a decent position heading into this final match against Poland and they will know a victory will mean they top the group.

Poland v Argentina Preview

Poland were kept quiet by Mexico in their opener but given how hard Argentina found it to break them down I don’t think that looks the worst result now. They produced a mixed performance but did beat Saudi Arabia 2-0 last time with their star man Lewandowski bagging his first goal in Qatar late which will do his confidence the world of good. They will be hoping Mexico can do a job against Saudi Arabia which would see them qualify. As a result this is likely to be a very tight match.

Argentina have now managed 6 clean sheets in their last 7 games and with Messi firing they should come through this test and more than likely win to nil. Poland do find themselves in good form with 3 wins from their last 4 but they scored just 4 goals in those games and if Argentina can keep Lewandowski quiet that should suffice.
