NAP – My best tip of the day
Market Rasen 12.07 Gerard Mentor (best price 13/8)
Progressive form in recent starts winning 3 of his last 4 over hurdles; given a patient ride again before cutting through the field and winning by 18 lengths at Ludlow last time; 7lb penalty looks unlikely to stop him here.
This isn’t a strong field so it is hard to get away from GERARD MENTOR as he bids to land a hat-trick of wins. He seems to be improving all the time and that was particularly impressive last time winning by a wide margin. He has to carry a penalty here but if in the same form he should be able to extend his winning sequence. Hopefully it isn’t run at a crawl but there doesn’t look tons of pace on. Perhaps Natty Night will go forward under Ned Fox as he should strip fitter from that reappearance run at Hereford last time. Ithaka doesn’t have much form to go on from Ireland but the traders have taken no chances with his odds on debut for Ryan Potter so he might improve to be the main danger.

Wincanton 12.55 Lime Avenue (best price 13/8)
Walk In The Park mare who couldn’t have been any more impressive bolting up on debut under Rules in a bumper at Chepstow 36 days ago; up in trip for hurdles debut and looks one to keep firmly on side for now.
Following that 14-length bumper win LIME AVENUE is expected to be very difficult to beat now going over hurdles at Wincanton on Thursday. She is bred to do well in this discipline and the step up in trip is only going to see her improve so the field will likely be playing catch up. She was well backed last time and I expect that to be the case again here. Annie Magic was an easy winner of an Irish point and shaped promisingly chasing home Lutinebella on debut over hurdles at Exeter. She can progress so looks the threat to the favourite. Micronormous showed a good attitude to win a bumper at Exeter and is another one that should have a bright enough future now sent hurdling here.
