Expensive purchase who has certainly lived up to the hype so far winning head in chest on debut over hurdles at Stratford and then improving again to win by 9 lengths at Cheltenham last month; exciting prospect.
The Challow is often won by a smart horse and Paul Nicholls has won it for the last two years with Bravemansgame and Stage Star. He saddles the favourite HERMES ALLEN and it would take a brave man to oppose. He was an expensive purchase and has so far lived up to the hype bolting up on debut over hurdles at Stratford and then looking potentially exciting winning by 9 lengths at Cheltenham. He is definitely the one to beat here. Joyeux Machin was impressive winning by 5 lengths at Fairyhouse last time staying on strongly. He is going the right way and shouldn’t be underestimated. I think he is the clear danger. Crambo impressed at Ascot but that form has been let down by the second since.

Newbury 12.10 Grivetana (best price 6/4)
Promising filly who is still learning her trade but left reappearance run behind to go close over C&D last month, sticking to the task; that form looks solid and her present mark looks well within reach; hard to oppose.
Now she is settling better GRIVETANA looks to have found a good opportunity to get back to winning ways. She bumped into First Street over track and trip last month and the fourth Yorksea has already franked that form winning easily at Fontwell next time out. She looks well handicapped off a mark of 122 and she should be up to justifying favouritism here. Amelia’s Dance was rewarded for her consistency winning at Taunton last time. She is up 7lb though and off a career-high mark now so that might leave her a touch vulnerable. Midnight Ginger might pose a greater threat as she ran well when third at Wincanton on reappearance and if building on that should go well for a long way here.
