Good looking sort who showed a real will to win when always doing enough at Wolverhampton last month; 3lb higher here but can improve again on just his fourth start in a handicap; sure to run well.
The way SKYE BREEZE won at Wolverhampton last month I’m surprised he isn’t shorter than 10/3 here as he looks outstanding value against the favourite. He was always doing enough to prevail last time and the fact it set up for the second Heatherdown Hero and he still managed to hold that rival off readily bodes well for further progress. He is up 3lb but clearly has more in the tank on just his fourth start in a handicap and I think he’ll serve it up to the favourite. Victory March has won 4 of his last 5 but a 5lb penalty makes life tougher and he needs to handle yet another quick turnaround. Of the rest Isle Of Wolves bumped into Starfighter and then Victory March last time so is competitive on form.

Likeable type who has now won 3 from 5 over hurdles and impressed again showing a good attitude to prevail at Exeter on reappearance; form worked out well enough since; up 4lb but more to come yet.
I’ve gone for a bit of value again for my second best bet on Bank Holiday Monday. PILSDON PEN has been nothing but progressive over hurdles and again impressed winning at Exeter on return. That form has worked out well enough since and up just 4lb this looks a good opportunity to follow up. I’m pretty sure he’ll go off shorter than the 4/1 on offer at the time of writing. Saligo Bay is a decent yardstick so no surprise to see him threatening in the market. He prevailed by a nose at Lingfield and another big run likely beckons. Mr Freedom landed a hat-trick of wins at Fontwell back in September but went off the boil after and needs the break to have freshened him up since.
