NAP – My best tip of the day
Hereford 2.30 Saint Segal (best price 15/8)
Promising type who did well over hurdles initially and looked a nice prospect making a winning chase debut at Chepstow when last seen; only going to improve on that so comfortably the one to beat.
I was a big fan of SAINT SEGAL over hurdles and judging by that Chepstow romp he is going to make into an even better chaser. He travelled strongly throughout and once asked took it up going best and won going away at the line. He has been put up 7lb but is open to plenty of improvement and looks well placed to follow up. Christopher Wood was sent over fences a couple of years ago but could only manage a well beaten third at Sedgefield. He achieved a decent level over hurdles though and should do better at some point in this sphere so looks the most likely danger. He has had a wind op ahead of his return from 9 months off the track so might come on for the run.

Newcastle 2.20 Pocket The Packet (best price 15/8)
Progressive form this winter winning 4 times from just 6 starts including twice over C&D; unbeaten over this trip at this track and had excuses at Southwell; no surprise to see him bounce back and win this.
The good looking POCKET THE PACKET looks up to defying this mark back at this track. His win here in November was impressive and while things didn’t go to plan at Southwell last time he had excuses and should be able to bounce back off a mark of 72. Even at the time of writing he is proving popular in the betting so it would be no surprise to see him really well backed once more. Silverlode appeals as the most likely danger having ran his best race to date when beaten less than a length over C&D last week. The fourth Ladywantaway has won since so the form has been franked. I just feel the fav will show the better turn of foot if within range in the closing stages but they might be the 1-2.
