Navan 1.07

This is definitely fiercely competitive but with both Au Fleuron and Grand Roi out now it has cut up a bit. I like the chances of HMS SEAHORSE for Paul Nolan. This 5yo ran well when last over hurdles finishing third at Galway back in the summer. He is up to 2 and a half miles here and should have more to come off this mark. He actually remains lightly raced and I can see him getting involved in the finish here.

Lucky Max clocked a career best to win at Cork but an 8lb rise in an open looking race is certainly going to demand more. Carrigeen Lotus hasn’t won for a while and found Grade 2 company too hot to handle over fences at Limerick last time so a bit to prove.

Lingfield 1.37

The four-timer may well be on the cards for DREAM HARDER at Lingfield today. Ian Williams has done really well since getting him from Jamie Osborne and he won again with a bit up his sleeve at Newcastle last month. A further 5lb rise demands more but freshened up since that last run and with James Doyle booked for the ride I think he is going to go close and I’d have him shorter in the betting.

The danger is Paris Lights who opened his account readily on return on debut for George Boughey. He was heavily backed and ran on well. With more to come moving into handicaps he should run well. Pistoletto is the other one capable of a decent run here.

Navan 1.42

This is quite clearly one of the toughest races of the day live on ITV Racing on Saturday so a tentative vote goes to PENNY JAR at decent odds. He has won his last 3 and impressed edging out Clear The Clouds in a good race at Punchestown last time. He showed a good attitude to get the better of that argument and the field was well strung out in behind. This is tougher but he is going the right way and might be worth chancing again.

Plenty of dangers but Indie Belle will likely go off favourite after winning at Tramore and then performing creditably in this last time. She goes back up in trip which will suit so expect a big run. Mrs Paisley was pulled up last time but has joined Gordon Elliott since.

Lingfield 2.12

I’m pleasantly surprised DANCINGINTHEWOODS is as big a price as he is here. This son of Garswood looked good winning over this trip at Kempton back in October and has run two big races in defeat since. He missed just half a length at Southwell next time and then went down less than a length at the same venue earlier this month. He runs off the same mark with Freddy Larson claiming 3lb and is sure to go close.

All The King’s Men failed to fire in France wen last seen but is interesting on debut on these shores with Ryan Moore booked so has to be feared. Shoot To Kill likes this track and trip and is also capable of a big run with that Kempton effort under his belt.

Navan 2.17

This has been won by the likes of Three Stripe Life and Joyeux Machin so it usually produces a good horse. IT’S FOR ME seems to fit the bill this time around for Willie Mullins. He is bred to be pretty useful being a half-brother to Gin Coco. He won his only start in a point by 8 lengths and is a fascinating contender under Rules for the first time. He has been heavily backed in the market so connections must be expecting a big run.

If there is a danger then it could be Ballystone who cost £120,000 and made a bright start runner-up in a point back in May last year. He is a half-brother to Wholestone so should have a bright future. Calazure might fare best of the rest also making his debut.

Lingfield 2.47

I’m keen to back AL AGAILA again here. This filly by Lope De Vega was very impressive over track and trip last time and with further improvement to come can bring up the hat-trick. She has always hinted at potentially being useful and looks to be fulfilling that potential now. She’ll likely be ridden forward so I don’t think there will be too many excuses with James Doyle in the saddle.

Morgan Fairy also clocked a career best to win over a mile here and if she can improve she definitely would have to be feared. I actually think Purple Ribbon may be a greater danger as she was denied a neck over a mile and a half at Kempton and that is solid form.

Navan 2.52

Despite taking a big drift I think AIONE could surprise a few here. This son of Coastal Path is still really lightly raced for his age having had just 8 starts under Rules and only 3 over fences. He was beaten 7 lengths on return at Punchestown but should strip fitter from the run and should put in an improved performance here. He will need to jump better but at around 8/1 at the time of writing he looks worth chancing each way.

Shantreusse is the one I fear most as he was fourth to Gerri Colombe on reappearance and then ran well when second to Must Be Obeyed at Punchestown last month. He has more to come so should go well. Tenzing is also noted after bumping into Ramillies.

Lingfield 3.22

This looks a good opportunity for SILKY WILKIE to get himself back in the winners enclosure. He has been a model of consistency this season finishing runner-up on 3 of his 4 starts and that second to Annaf here last time has been strongly franked since. He is off the same mark and with the drop back to the minimum holding no fears he should run a big race with 7lb claimer Sam Feilden booked for the ride.

Strong Power won despite lacking fitness at Wolverhampton on return and while he has been beaten 3 times since that was a big run behind Mums Tipple last time and he is clearly capable of going close here. Definitely the main danger.

Navan 3.27

Another tough race to close out ITV Racing on Saturday but SANIBEL ISLAND should give us a good run for our money. He might be an 11yo now but he has won 2 of his last 3 now and was given a bit too much to do when third at Punchestown last time. Freshened up since he could bounce back here and take a hand. This slight drop back in trip to 3 miles should help too and I think he ticks more boxes than most in this.

Spancil Hill is a 13yo now but was in good form when last seen finishing second at Punchestown. If he builds on that with the visor back on he could be the danger. Diegos Way was a drifter at Hereford but ran a big race when second so also has claims.
