Pliskova justified favouritism against Gracheva and Bencic just had too much for Giorgi who saw her good run of form come to an end. Zhang ended Volynets hopes and Fruhvirtova sprung a surprise beating Vondrousova 2-1. Sabalenka cruised through against Mertens but not as easy for Garcia who needed 3 sets to get past a gutsy Siegemund. Linette upset the odds to beat Alexandrova and now we find ourselves in the Last 16.
