NAP – My best tip of the day
Leopardstown 1.40 Mighty Potter (best price 13/8)
Promising novice hurdler who won 2 of his last 3 over timber before going chasing this term; impressive performance to make it 2-2 over fences at Fairyhouse when last seen; more to come yet and clearly exciting.
There was lots to like about the way MIGHTY POTTER beat some very good horses at Fairyhouse and with further improvement on the cards now I think he can make it 3-3 over fences. There was a possibility that stablemate Gerri Colombe could come here but with that rival rerouted he really should keep his perfect record over fences intact. The biggest danger looks to be James Du Berlais for Willie Mullins after winning some easily at Fairyhouse last month. He has more to come as well and should make a race of it. Gaillard Du Mesnil came out and franked the form winning so well here last time but he has ground to make up with the selection and that will be no easy task.
NB – My Next or second best tip of the day
MY NEXT BEST ALSO RUNS OVER JUMPS AT LEOPARDSTOWN ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON!
Leopardstown 3.10 Honeysuckle (best price 15/8)
High-class mare who tasted defeat for the very first time when third to Teahupoo on return at Fairyhouse back in December; that rival has franked the form since; won this easily last year; likely be hard to beat.
The loveable HONEYSUCKLE will be looking to bounce back from that rare Fairyhouse blip and while this is obviously no easy task coming up against State Man she does love this track and she should be a lot sharper now. If she wins this it will put her spot on for a mouthwatering clash with Constitution Hill at Cheltenham next month. State Man has won his last 5 over hurdles now and has to be feared but there was a brief scare last time and I can see Vauban potentially reversing that form with his reappearance run under his belt. It is a fascinating race however you break it down so fingers crossed Rachael Blackmore gets the best out of the wondermare as she bids for win number 17!
