Ffos Las 2.33 Heltenham (best price 11/8)
Progressive so far over fences winning with a fair bit up his sleeve at Newcastle last time; open to further improvement and a 7lb rise looks unlikely to stop him here.
There was lots to like about the way HELTENHAM came through the pack to ultimately win well at Newcastle on Boxing Day. He stayed on strongly to continue his race-by-race progression over fences. He is up 7lb but you’d be foolish to rule out further improvement and I expect him to take this. How’s The Cricket made an impressive start to this discipline winning so well over C&D but has been beaten twice since albeit ran well going down 2 lengths at Taunton last time. With more to come he is the obvious danger. Of the rest Hidor De Bersy bumped into a nice horse at Wetherby on debut over fences but pulled up at Fontwell and needs to bounce back to have a chance.

Newcastle 5.40 Fox Master (best price 6/4)
Won despite showing signs of inexperience on debut over C&D a fortnight ago; sure to be more streetwise now and looks to have a good chance of making it 2-2 against this field.
I was impressed with FOX MASTER on debut and he could be a nice horse in the making. He won despite looking a little clueless throughout the race but once he required what was needed he stayed on well to get his head in front. He will improve plenty from that and looks well placed to follow up. Great State built on his debut run to win at Wolverhampton and should have further improvement to come so looks the danger. It is still early days for Engelbert so if he steps forward he is another one that could get competitive. Saracen Head is best of the rest but probably needs more time and experience to be seen to best effect and this looks quite a good race.
