NAP – My best tip of the day
Kempton 6.30 Lightship (best price 2/1)
Promising filly who took a big step forward to make a winning handicap debut over C&D a fortnight ago, travelling strongly before doing it easily; up 5lb but will improve again so big shout.
It is hard to oppose LIGHTSHIP off the back of that impressive win on handicap debut. She is clearly a filly ahead of her handicap mark currently and a 5lb rise doesn’t look enough to anchor her. She travelled really smoothly the last day and however this is run I can see her looming up before hitting the line best. Smiling Sunflower made a winning start for this yard on reappearance and was only beaten 2 lengths last time. She likely has more to offer off her current mark and is the biggest danger to the selection. Crystal Casque was back to winning ways over C&D under 7lb claimer Oliver Searle last month and could be best of the rest but has a career high mark to deal with which won’t be easy. Albion Princess also has a squeak but does need to bounce back.

Punchestown 2.50 Law Ella (best price 11/4)
Chased home Ashroe Diamond in a bumper last year and caught the eye on hurdles debut lacking fluency but finishing a good second at Galway; failed to build on that but still early days.
Despite not living up to expectation in 3 hurdle runs to date it is still early days for the promising LAW ELLA and given time since that fourth at Naas I think we could see a different proposition now. She is likely to have been well schooled since and this looks a good opportunity for her to make the breakthrough over hurdles. Crumb Of Comfort showed potential when third on hurdles debut at Fairyhouse and if improving looks the most obvious danger to the selection. She lacks experience but should have a bright enough future. Nine Graces was flattered by the proximity to Indiana Dream at Fairyhouse but still ran well enough to be a player in a race like this so also has to be respected. Jumping Jet could fare best of the rest if finding further improvement.
