Monday’s Australian Horse Racing Tips

NAP – Best tip overnight
Race 7 York 9.00 Truevinksky (best price 7/4)
Likeable type who remains a work in progress and in hindsight did well to get as close as he did at Ascot last time given he had a heat stress after that run; given time since and still improving so big shout.
This race clearly lacks strength in depth so it looks a decent opportunity for TRUEVINKSKY to get himself back to winning ways. He won his maiden at this track back in November and has done little wrong since. He remains open to further improvement and if sound there shouldn’t be too many excuses. Ima Sly Fox is a fairly solid yardstick and he at least shaped better when fourth at Ascot last time. If building on that he could be the danger but he is more exposed. Pasaran has just the 1 win from 27 starts and needs to better recent form to land a serious blow in this. Alkaline is 2 wins from 26 but again recent form leaves something to be desired and the feeling is he will be vulnerable again. Gin ‘N’ Swanic might have more to come but will need to improve to get involved.

Race 5 Wagga 5.25 Magnolia Belle (best price 9/4)
Promising mare who left previous form behind to make the breakthrough on reappearance over track and trip last month; almost certainly has more to come and this looks a good chance to follow up.
Hard to oppose MAGNOLIA BELLE off the back of that impressive win over C&D on return. She will strip fitter and can improve again on what is just her fifth start. She will push forward from a wide draw and likely take plenty of catching. Skaifee won at Sapphire Coast last time and looks the danger but he is more exposed having run 21 times already. Lipstick Swing is 3 from 6 but she let backers down badly last time and has a point to prove off the back of that. Miss Shadowlake won at Albury on penultimate start and backed that up with a good run in defeat at Wodonga so is another mare that could get involved. Apsara is a good looking mare but this probably looks a cut above what she is capable of right now so may be left vulnerable in the closing stages.
