Race 4 Canberra 4.55 Warby (best price 11/10)
Promising type who left previous form behind to get his head in front at Hawkesbury last month, firmly in command late; sure to keep improving for a while yet and well placed to follow up.
The way WARBY swooped home from off the speed to win convincingly at Canberra last time was encouraging and now the penny has dropped he should be capable of going on with it. He is well placed here as this is winnable and no surprise to see him strong in the betting. Eberlee is second fav but much more exposed and only has the 2 wins from 26 attempts. She just isn’t running well enough to spring an upset here and looks vulnerable to me. The Maxinator may pose a greater threat but he also needs to bounce back as was nearer last than first at Newcastle. Galactic Warrior is lightly raced but needs to raise his game.

Race 3 Ascot 7.58 Givemeonereason (best price 11/8)
Likeable type who impressed winning at Northam back in October last year; beaten twice since but in good contests so will find this easier on return and can still do better so big shout.
I know GIVEMEONEREASON wasn’t in the best form towards the end of last campaign but he starts out here and still retains plenty of potential so could easily get back to winning ways. He has only had a handful of starts and is destined for bigger and better things in time. Deep Envy won at Pinjarra on penultimate start and then was third last time. She has race fitness on side so should threaten but probably lacks the class of the favourite. Ima Single Gal was a good second last time and if building on that should be best of the rest as the betting is suggesting. Cruise To Victory ran poorly last time and has a bit to prove off the back of that.
