I loved the way MATATA won on chase debut at Ffos Las and despite getting beat at Cheltenham last time he ran right up to form. The winner Libberty Hunter looks a progressive chaser and I think that is form that will work out to be quite strong in time. He is the obvious pace angle in this and if he gets into a decent rhythm again he could prove hard to reel in this time.

Master Chewy ran out a convincing winner at Kempton last month but I’m still not completely sold with him and if he makes mistakes held up off the pace it could prove hard to land a blow. It wouldn’t surprise me if Jpr One bounced back and emerged as the main danger.

Allaho will likely end up being well backed for this but I think he is opposable at a short price. He had a gruelling race in the King George and this is coming soon enough. If he is recovered then he should go close but at the price I’m not willing to pay to find out. I’m giving a chance to APPRECIATE IT who ran a cracker to go down just half a length to Fastorslow on reappearance. If he bounces back from Leopardstown last time back down in trip here he should run a big race.

Envoi Allen went down all guns blazing by a neck to Gerri Colombe at Down Royal and might even emerge as the main danger. The rest look up against it.

Given time since that final flight fall at Ascot SAINT SEGAL could be set to gain compensation here. He looked like he was about to run out a convincing winner last time and if his confidence hasn’t been knocked he should prove the answer here off just a 3lb higher mark.

Irish raider The King Of Prs has won his last 3 and it would be no surprise to see him emerge as the main danger.

It was good to see NURSE SUSAN back to something like her best winning at Cheltenham last month. I know there were a couple of fallers including the favourite but she impressed with how she came there going strongly at the last and just had to be ridden out to prevail. That was her second start back from a long layoff so she is still entitled to improve again physically and while this is tougher a 4lb rise seems perfectly manageable. I’m expecting her to be well backed in the market and she looks the one to be on.

Gowel Road was a good fourth behind Slate Lane at Haydock and wasn’t disgraced in the Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot so will be the main danger to the selection.

The price obviously isn’t massively appealing but I do think L’HOMME PRESSE will get the job done here. He is a high class horse and he has won fresh for the last two years now. He should be fit and ready to go and he is the most likely winner.

Protektorat was poor in the Betfair Chase but bounced back running a big race to finish third at Cheltenham last month. He is primed to run well here and should give the favourite a race. It will be hard for the others to land a blow.

That was a really good run from REGAL BLUE to finish second at Haydock and he is improving with experience. He has only had a couple of starts over fences and is expected to improve again off the same mark so must have a great chance.

Plenty of dangers to pick from likely headed by Animal who won at Sandown and then went down less than a length at Market Rasen. Not Sure is also noted if bouncing back.
