York 1.50

C&D winner GIBSIDE looks overpriced for the opener at 12/1! He clearly needed the outing when down the field over C&D on return last month and quickly left that behind to get himself back in the winners enclosure at Catterick last time. He has only gone up 3lb for that and back at this venue should be set for another big run at a decent each way price.

Obviously a really competitive race so quite a few dances. Star Jasmine is unexposed and has that sexy profile coming in and with George Boughey going so well is probably the danger. Lord Melbourne is certainly capable off his current mark and ran well at Epsom when last seen.

York 1.50

Gibside 12/1 each way

Main danger Star Jasmine but Lord Melbourne is feared too

Sandown 2.05

Back at this venue it was no real surprise to see DUAL IDENTITY back to his best winning with a bit in hand over C&D last month. 3 of his 5 career wins have now come at this track so it is a venue he clearly goes very well at. He is back up 4lb but the runner-up Magic Memories has won since so the form has already been franked.

Dancing Magic impressed chasing home Percy’s Lad at Chester last month and if improving again will be the danger. Both Vultar and Two Tempting make each way appeal as well in another open contest.

Sandown 2.05

Dual Identity 13/2 each way

Main danger Dancing Magic but both Vultar and Two Tempting should run well

York 2.25

I do think both New Image and Aalto are going to run well so the market likely has it spot on with them two vying for favouritism but at a bigger price WOVEN can’t be left alone. He doesn’t know how to run a bad race and only went down a couple of lengths behind Aleezdancer over 5f here last month. If the step back up to 7f helps him take another step forward then this past C&D winner definitely has a squeak.

Of the two favourites New Image is probably the one I’m most fearful of as he has won 2 of his last 3 now and is unexposed so could easily improve again which would make him a danger to all.

York 2.25

Woven 10/1 each way

Main danger New Image

Sandown 2.40

The drop back to the minimum trip and the ease in grade should see ADAAY IN DEVON back in the winners enclosure here. She looked progressive winning twice at Bath earlier in the season and certainly wasn’t disgraced bumping into Jasour at Ascot and then third behind Elite Status and Relief Rally at Newbury. Her form looks rock solid and she is worth keeping on side.

No Half Measures keeps improving and might be the one to give her most to think about. Flora Of Bermuda needs to get away on terms and could probably do with a bit more rain as well.

Sandown 2.40

Adaay In Devon 9/4 NAP

Main danger No Half Measures

York 3.00

After an encouraging return RELENTLESS VOYAGER improved again to win readily at Epsom when last seen. He ran on strongly at the finish and pulled clear from a well strung out field. He steps back into Listed company but remains unexposed over this trip and could have plenty more to come.

Real Dream was a place in front of the selection at Newmarket and if building on that looks the biggest danger. Salt Bay shouldn’t be completely ignored either but it’s a shame there are only 2 places up for grabs.

York 3.00

Relentless Voyager 3/1 NEXT BEST

Main danger Real Dream

Chester 3.20

I’m surprised MONFRID is as big as 9/1 for this. He won despite looking far from the finished article at Catterick last month and then went down just 2 lengths in a good race at Goodwood last time. That was his handicap debut and off the same mark here with the promise of more to come I think the market is underestimating him. This is competitive but I’ll be surprised if he isn’t better than his current mark and I think this track will suit. Witness Stand ran well back in handicap company finishing runner-up over C&D last month and with a repeat could be the danger.

Blue Prince flashed home for third at York and again ran well to fill the same position at Goodwood in front of the selection last time. He is off the same mark and should get competitive again. Brunel Nation was in that race too a nose ahead of the selection so is also respected.

Chester 3.20

Monfrid 9/1 VALUE TIP

Main danger Blue Prince but watch out for Brunel Nation as well

York 3.35

I know the handicapper applies more pressure but WOODHAY WONDER has been so progressive and she might still be the one to beat despite a further 5lb rise. She showed such a good attitude to fend off Completely Random at Newmarket last month and the pair pulled nicely clear from the third so she could still have scope for better. She comes out well on the clock too in comparison to these and looks too big in the betting at 10/1.

This will be a real dash to the line so hard to rule too many out with confidence. Pocklington won his first two starts earlier in the year and then was a good fifth to Elite Status at Newbury. He goes handicapping now and will improve so might head up the dangers. Serried Ranks is a big price and might be able to hit the frame if he settles heading to post.

York 3.35

Woodhay Wonder 10/1 LONGSHOT

Main danger Pocklington but Serried Ranks might hit the frame if they keep a lid on him in the prelims
