A wide open stayers handicap to kick off and this isn’t easy but I do think last years winner TEMPORIZE should run a big race. He comes here in winning form having prevailed gamely at Newbury last month and while he is 3lb higher with this track to his liking he could have a good chance of following up.
Kyle Of Lochalsh was third behind the selection at Newbury but looks a young stayer on the up and might be the one to give him most to think about. At a massive price Robert Johnson might be a bit of value to rattle the frame (if getting 4 places).

There were thunderstorms last night and quite a lot of heavy rain so hopefully that has just taken the top off as if it has then AL MUSMAK is really difficult to oppose. This Night Of Thunder colt looked really good winning at Newmarket last month and given he remains unexposed especially over a mile he has plenty going for him.
Dancing Gemini ran a big race on reappearance in France before going up in trip in The Derby. He was by no means disgraced but then failed to fire at Sandown. Back down to a mile he could easily be the danger as these are calmer waters too.
Goodwood 3.00
After much deliberation I have actually decided to back two against the field for the Golden Mile. Some bookies are paying 5 places which seems generous. The favourite at the time of writing is HOLLOWAY BOY and he is easy to make a case for. I know he hasn’t won since that impressive victory in the Chesham on debut but he ran a cracker going down just half a length to Cicero’s Gift at Sandown last month and if building on that will go close.
The other one I like at a bigger price is PEROTTO for Roger Varian. He ties in on that Sandown form as he was a neck back in third. His run in the Royal Hunt Cup before that was huge too so he arrives bang in form and likely won’t be too far away. Plenty of dangers headed by Blue For You and also I can see Classic running quite well for Richard Hannon.

I always look forward to the King George at Glorious Goodwood and Royal Ascot hero ASFOORA might be the way to go. She was impressive running on strongly to win the King Charles III Stakes and she had the favourite here Big Evs back in third. She has Oisin Murphy in the saddle again and if in the same form is the one to beat.
Big Evs is obviously a very smart colt and he will be more suited by this track. He won the Molecomb here last year and will have his supporters again. Believing showed a gutsy attitude to win over in Ireland last month and is another one who will be bang there in a good renewal.
Goodwood 4.10
I know this is tougher again but it was hard not to be impressed with CICERO’S GIFT at Sandown. He has only had five starts to date and has now won 4 of them so he is on his way to becoming a really smart horse. He has his quirks but there is no doubting the engine and I’m keen to keep him on side even though he is now facing a tougher calibre of horse. I can see him being even better with a stronger gallop to run down and with tons of pace on here this could pan out favourably.
My Prospero is the pace angle and he was highly tried behind King Of Steel when last seen. He would be dangerous off the front but there are one or two I expect to go forward so hopefully he gets taken on for the lead as that would be an ideal scenario.
Goodwood 4.45
After crunching the stats MISSION COMMAND looks to have a massive chance in this! George Scott does well with handicap debutants and this son of Acclamation looks to have been let in lightly off a mark of just 83. That Ripon form has been franked since too and I’m expecting a big run.
The other one I like is THE DRAGON KING for Clive Cox who is eyeing up a hat-trick after impressing again at Windsor. He has more to come and despite a 4lb rise should be bang there. Tons of dangers likely headed by Rare Change who will go off favourite and Sex On Fire who has an interesting profile.
Goodwood 5.20
I don’t think ASSAILANT ran too badly at Royal Ascot as he was beaten less than 5 lengths despite finishing ninth. He is unexposed over a mile and a half and if building on that run could get involved here. The race is cutting up a bit and he could still improve as has only had 5 career starts.
Wafei bolted up at Hamilton and while he was entitled to it was still quite impressive. An opening mark of 83 looks on the lenient side and I think he’ll have a big say in this and does look the obvious danger.

I know a lot of you love placing a Lucky 15 so this is what I’d recommend from my selections at Glorious Goodwood on Friday. Pays 350/1!
