Haydock 1.15

This is a trappy opener on ITV and it really wouldn’t surprise me if SPARKS FLY managed to get loose on the lead and slip the field. She was really progressive last year winning 8 times and if you can forgive her that run in Ireland last time then she might just be able to surprise a few. Conditions are ideal and she seems overpriced.

Cicero’s Gift impressed defying an absence to win at Sandown in testing conditions back in July. He wasn’t at his best at Goodwood but back on a softer surface here he could bounce back and emerge as the danger.

Haydock 1.15

Sparks Fly 10/1 each way

Main danger Cicero’s Gift

Ascot 1.35

This is an open race but MISSION TO MOON has been running well all season and now he finally has soft ground again and the fact he gets weight from most of the field taking on his elders he looks a really solid each way bet. He is still unexposed so should run a big race.

The Wizard Of Eye impressed winning the Victoria Cup over C&D on stable debut and he certainly wasn’t disgraced behind Khaadem at Royal Ascot when last seen. Back in a handicap he looks a danger to all here.

Ascot 1.35

Mission To Moon 9/1 each way LONGSHOT

Main danger The Wizard Of Eye

Haydock 1.50

I’m not surprised to see MASTER BUILDER backed here as I thought he was unlucky at York on first crack over this trip last month. He stayed on well to the line and with further improvement to come I think he can get back to winning ways. He has gone up 3lb but that doesn’t bother me and Buick is an eye-catching booking.

Hutchence is likeable and arrives on a hat-trick so this son of Frankel could easily be the danger. Both Walter Hartright and Too Bossy For Us are expected to get competitive as well but hopefully just fighting for a place in behind the selection.

Haydock 1.50

Master Builder 4/1

Main danger Hutchence

Ascot 2.10

With 3 wins from 6 starts overall GOODWOOD ODYSSEY has been progressive and I loved the way he knuckled down to get back to winning ways at Goodwood last month. That form has worked out well since and given he is unexposed especially over a mile and a half if he steps forward again he should run another big race.

French Duke missed a short head at Newbury and then looked unlucky at Royal Ascot so deserved to get off the mark at Goodwood last time and looks the obvious danger. The Reverend is also respected with connections reaching for cheekpieces.

Ascot 2.10

Goodwood Odyssey 9/2 VALUE TIP

Main danger French Duke

Haydock 2.25

This is arguably the most competitive race of the day on ITV Racing with it 6/1 the field at the time of writing. The one that appeals most is DIVINE COMEDY for Harry Eustace. This likeable mare has been progressive in handicaps and she has good course form. I thought she shaped well when fifth on reappearance at York and if building on that should go well despite a potential tricky draw.

Waxing Gibbous is unexposed and could have a fair bit of improvement to come yet so looks the danger for David Menuisier. Dancing In Paris bolted up at Southwell and is also likely to be bang there at the finish.

Haydock 2.25

Divine Comedy 7/1 each way

Main danger Waxing Gibbous but look out for Dancing In Paris too

Kempton (AW) 2.35

I thought KALPANA had a case to be favourite for this given she has only had 6 starts and has won 3 of them. I loved the way she did it at Hamilton when last seen and confidence will be high coming into this despite it obviously being tougher. She should love going back up to a mile and a half and I’m keen to keep her on side.

Hamish is obviously the class act but he might just be a bit vulnerable to younger legs now and has to give weight away (and plenty to the selection). Lion’s Pride is also feared back on the AW and might even be the bigger threat.

Kempton (AW) 2.35

Kalpana 10/3

Main danger Lion’s Pride

Haydock 3.00

I can see SHAGRAAN winning some nice pots going forward and he looks the one to side with here. He caught the eye a few times before winning at Goodwood last month and then did little wrong when fifth at York last time. He has been left off the same mark and with Oisin Murphy booked has a great chance.

American Affair has won 3 of his last 7 and has done nothing wrong the last twice so looks the danger. Looking For Lynda and Jer Batt are also likely to get involved in a tricky race on paper.

Haydock 3.00

Shagraan 9/2 each way

Main danger American Affair

Kempton (AW) 3.15

Tom Marquand is riding on the crest of a wave at the moment and had another terrific day on Friday. He rides KILT here and this son of Kingman looks open to stacks more improvement yet. He went down to another progressive sort in Old Cock at Haydock last month and if building on that should have too much for this field.

Valkyrian is going the right way and ran well second to Raheena last week so if in that form and handing the quick turnaround could be the danger. Vultar is another one to note but possibly just from a place perspective.

Kempton (AW) 3.15

Kilt 7/2

Main danger Valkyrian

Haydock 3.35

Time for the big one the Sprint Cup! I’ve got to be honest I’ve gone round in circles on this race but eventually I have come down on INISHERIN who I think can get back to his best and win this. He has loved dropping back to sprinting winning over C&D and at Ascot before finishing fifth in the July Cup. I don’t think that track suited him that much and back at this venue where we know he has been impressive in the past I think he can bounce back in a big way.

Unequal Love is a monster price but I think she might run well and rattle the frame (might be worth a saver). Jasour also stands out at a price and could get competitive too so keep an eye on him for Clive Cox.

Haydock 3.35

Inisherin 4/1

Main dangers Jasour and Unequal Love
