Doncaster 1.50
After catching the eye looking unlucky at Goodwood EAST INDIA DOCK improved again to win head in chest last time. He has clocked decent speed figures the last twice and doesn’t mind softer ground so has plenty going for him here. He has a 6lb penalty but has Ryan Moore booked and should run another big race.
Shadow Dance impressed winning at York 3 weeks ago and if seeing out this trip as strongly looks to be the biggest danger.
Doncaster 2.25
Lope De Vega colt JONQUIL made a bright start winning on debut at Sandown. He got up in the final stride and did well to win as was denied a run at one stage too. He overcame inexperience to get off to the perfect start and with improvement a near certainty I can see him going 2-2 against these.
Symbol Of Honour bolted up at Lingfield and then went down just over a length in the Coventry at Royal Ascot so looks the obvious danger.
Doncaster 3.00
I bet Colin Keane was kicking himself after that ride on MAGNUM FORCE at York last month. The horse travelled powerfully through the race and was just given too much to do to run down Tropical Storm. He hit the line hard but the winner scrambled home. He can improve again and I think he’ll reverse that form here and quite readily too. He has only had 3 starts and is entitled to progress plenty more yet so looks a nice enough sprinter here and going forward.
Big Mojo impressed beating Aesterius at Glorious Goodwood and then was only beaten a couple of lengths at York last month so looks the threat.
Doncaster 3.35
The Doncaster Cup is a tricky puzzle to solve this year but SWEET WILLIAM gets the vote. He showed a good attitude to beat Caius Chorister at Sandown back in May and has run well behind Kyprios the last twice. He has won at this track before and if this pans out favourably he is the most likely winner.
Gregory has run well the last twice and was only 3 lengths behind Vauban at York so if building on that again looks the danger.
Salisbury 3.55
I thought TABITI would be shorter than 9/4 for this off the back of that impressive debut win at Newmarket. This Kingman filly was well backed on that occasion and made no mistake travelling best off the front and making all the running convincingly. She lacks experience granted but I don’t see the drop back to 6f causing too many issues and in a race where there isn’t tons of speed similar tactics may well be deployed.
Magic Mild is likeable and has progressed well winning her last two so looks the obvious danger to the selection but I think she can prove a cut above these.
Doncaster 4.10
I’m surprised Cabrera is as short as she is for this as I thought MISS ALPILLES was good value to spring an upset. She beat Aulis at Haydock and that form has worked out well since. Freshened up she can go on to better things and might just surprise the favourite.
Cabrera impressed winning at this track back in July but then was turned over at skinny odds at Newmarket. She can do better too though so is still respected as the danger.
