Leopardstown 1.40

The market confidence behind KOPEK DES BORDES is quite taking and they are clearly expecting him to make it 3-3 here and 2-2 over hurdles. His jumping will need to improve but if it does then he could prove a cut above these.

Kaid D’authie looked good winning here last time but there have been a few rumours that he suffered a bit of a setback and that would be worrying. Bleu De Vassy can improve and might be a bigger danger.

Leopardstown 1.40

Kopek Des Bordes 11/10

Main danger Bleu De Vassy

Musselburgh 1.55

It is hard to see how ASTA LA PASTA doesn’t go close here. He got off the mark impressively over fences at Carlisle and has finished behind the right horses since third to Kalif Du Berlais and then bumping into Leader In The Park at Kempton. That form stacks up and he is the one to beat.

Insurrection should have more to come in this sphere but the yard form is worrying. Choose A Copper at a big price could run well but there is only 2 places on offer from an each way point of view.

Musselburgh 1.55

Asta La Pasta 6/4

Main danger Insurrection

Leopardstown 2.10

The market is keen to oppose GAELIC WARRIOR but I’m not. He is a high-class chaser on his day and I think he is a lot better than what he showed here beaten by Solness on reappearance. I can see him getting back on track here before heading to Cheltenham next month.

El Fabiolo was back on track after that blip at the Festival to chase home Jonbon at Sandown on final start last season. We haven’t seen him since but he is the danger despite likely needing the run.

Leopardstown 2.10

Gaelic Warrior 7/4

Main danger El Fabiolo

Musselburgh 2.25

This will be a gruelling stamina test so no surprise to see the betting so competitive. A tentative vote goes to SURREY QUEST who did unseat at Newbury last time but caught the eye flashing home at Cheltenham before that. If he gets into a nice rhythm and jumps round then I think he could be a big threat to all.

Anglers Crag definitely shaped better when fifth at Market Rasen and back up in trip could be a big player. At a bigger price Lord Accord is also worth a second look.

Musselburgh 2.25

Surrey Quest 15/2 each way

Main danger Anglers Crag

Leopardstown 2.45

It was a great day for Gavin Cromwell yesterday and he could have a chance of another winner in the shape of BACKTONORMAL. This horse is unexposed and now up in trip for his handicap debut don’t be surprise if he improves a fair bit on what we’ve seen so far.

Sequestered bolted up here last time and despite being 12lb higher could still be the danger. Pinkerton is another one expected to get competitive.

Leopardstown 2.45

Backtonormal 7/2

Main danger Sequestered

Musselburgh 3.00

A big gamble was landed on HAMSIYANN at Cheltenham and he won with a fair bit in hand that day. He has gone up 10lb but could still be ahead of the handicapper and is being backed to follow up against these.

Doyen Quest still has potential to do better despite tasting defeat last time. That form over Gowel Road has obviously worked out well since.

Musselburgh 3.00

Hamsiyann 2/1

Main danger Doyen Quest

Leopardstown 3.20

We might only have 5 horses heading to post for the Irish Champion Hurdle but it is still a mouthwatering race in prospect. I can’t get away from LOSSIEMOUTH who should relish this softer ground and getting the allowance will be hard to stop under Danny Mullins.

State Man is better than he showed last time and if back on song won’t go down without a fight. The rest are up against it.

Leopardstown 3.20

Lossiemouth 5/6 NAP

Main danger State Man

Musselburgh 3.35

A wide open handicap chase to close out and GRAIN D’OUDAIRIES could run well at a price. He fell at Wetherby last time but won well at Doncaster prior to that and that form has worked out well since which is encouraging. If nonetheworse for that fall he will get involved.

Chapel Green has been running well and should get involved again so is feared. Duhallow Tommy can also get competitive at least.

Musselburgh 3.35

Grain D’oudairies 8/1 each way

Main danger Chapel Green
