Chester 1.30
Beaten just a length on return JER BATT is clearly in good nick. This tight track suits and on his sole start at this venue he was denied just a head. Off an unchanged mark I’m expecting him to go close and he looks a decent each way play at the prices.
Fair Taxes has been subject to a gamble and was denied a clear run at Dundalk on return. He has a plum draw and looks the danger.
Huntingdon 1.45
These much calmer waters should suit ILE DE JERSEY and I can see her getting back on track here. She wasn’t disgraced at Cheltenham last time but the fact she was sent off 16/1 tells you a lot. She is very well treated on her old form so understandably short in the betting.
Of Course You Can ran in the same race as the selection at Cheltenham and was behind her. She could be the danger but has a bit to find.
Chester 2.05
Not a great deal of form to go on here. Luminare was well fancied but she has come out now and TRICKY TEL has been all the rage for Hugo Palmer. He often targets this meeting with owner Michael Owen and this colt could take a lot of beating.
Somebody has experience on side and was beaten just over a length at Southwell so could put that to use and emerge as the danger.
Chester 2.35
After those two winners yesterday Mount Kilimanjaro is understandably proving popular for Aidan O’Brien. I do think HIGH STOCK looks better value though. This Dubawi colt made a winning start and impressed with how he travelled. Looks sure to improve with that under his belt.
Mount Kilimanjaro is sure to go well given the yard have won the last 3 renewals. He has more to come too so will run a big race.
Chester 3.05
I know ILLINOIS has been a bit uneasy in the betting but his claims are crystal clear in my eyes. He impressed winning readily in France on final start and promises to do even better as a 4yo now. The yard are in good form and 7/4 looks quite big.
Absurde impressed winning over hurdles at Plumpton last month and arrives in good order so looks the most obvious threat.
Chester 3.40
After impressing at Yarmouth and Beverley EL BURHAN let backers down only managing third at Goodwood. I do think he is better than that though and given time this should be a good starting point with the promise of more to come.
God Of War showed potential last season and is another one entitled to come forward so looks the danger. High On Hope also respected.
