It would be no surprise to see KING’S GAMBIT improve again this season. He has already reached a high level of form and was last seen finishing behind Rebel’s Romance in Doha. Back on these shores in first-time blinkers with Ryan Moore booked he looks to have plenty going for him.

Al Aasy rolled back the years to win at Sandown last month and that form has already been franked with the fifth See The Fire winning impressively at York.

I did like Physique for this initially but with that horse now out HARVARD SOUND could be decent value. He was by no means at his best when midfield at Southwell when last seen but these conditions look ideal and he is still unexposed in handicaps so might just be worth chancing.

Leadman didn’t do much wrong when second to Benacre at Newcastle on debut for this yard and if building on that could threaten most.

It is hard to look past IDES OF MARCH here for Aidan O’Brien. This Wootton Bassett colt was beaten just half a length on reappearance at Navan bumping into the right horse in the shape of his stablemate Whistlejacket. He was slowly away too so that can be marked up. He will be fitter and can improve again.

Symbol Of Honour was down the field behind Cosmic Year on return but the third has won since so the form has already been franked so he looks the danger.

I think you can argue FONDO BLANCO could be coming here on a hat-trick. He improved from his debut run to win at York and then was denied just a short head on return looking a bit unlucky. He has more to come now handicapping and stretching out to 7f so looks worth keeping firmly on side.

Art Market looked good winning over C&D last month and with conditions perfect he looks the danger despite the rise in the weights.

There are definitely a few lurking in here but the London Gold Cup is always fiercely competitive so that is to be expected. I can see SADDADD running a big race for Roger Varian. This Pinatubo colt has run well in defeat the last twice and could take a sizeable step forward now handicapping over this trip.

Genealogy isn’t really fancied in the betting which would be concerning for this yard but he certainly has the profile to be a big player under Ryan Moore.

There seems to be a bit of a gamble materialising on CLASSIC ENCOUNTER and looking at his form it is easy to see why. This 4yo has looked progressive this season winning on return at Redcar and then going close over C&D last time. He is still unexposed so could easily improve again and win this.

Mythical Guest ran a big race chasing home My Cloud at Ascot and this is a bit easier so he could be a threat. Good Morning Alex is also noted.

All eyes on Irish Guineas winner ROSALLION on his return. He looked thoroughly progressive last season finishing second to Noble Speech in the Guineas before going one better in the Irish equivalent. He impressed at Royal Ascot and can do better again as a 4yo. This should be a good starting point.

Dancing Gemini impressed beating Tamfana readily at Sandown last month and is the obvious danger with the promise of more to come.
