York 1.50
The money just keeps coming for HUMAM and I’m happy to weigh in with the gamble on this Kodiac colt. The step up to a mile went against him at Haydock but back down to 7f here with a fair bit of pace on I can see him going close off his current mark.
I know he has quite a big weight but you can never rule out BLUE FOR YOU at his beloved York and he should run well. Palmar Bay the danger.
Sandown 2.05
This race has cut up badly now with over half the field out so it should be a great opportunity for CLASSIC to get his head back in front. He was denied just a neck in this having met trouble last year and he has done nothing wrong in two starts this season so must go well.
Urban Lion is likeable and was a place in front of the selection at Newbury in the Spring Cup. He’s the danger but may struggle to confirm that.
York 2.25
I still think BORN RULER is armed with potential and he could easily get firmly back on track here. He has shaped quite well in defeat both starts since returning and off a mark of 87 there should be more to come especially over a mile and a half.
Maghlaak won at Wetherby and followed up at Catterick earlier in the year and has held his form well since so looks the biggest threat.
Sandown 2.40
The promising STAR OF MEHMAS won 3 from 4 as a 2yo and she has done nothing wrong since returning. She caught the eye going down a length at Chelmsford and then stepped forward denied just a head at York latest. Her form is decent and she is the one to beat here.
Coto De Caza has won 3 of her last 4 and despite lacking a run looks a danger to all under Harry Davies who continues to impress.
York 3.00
I am all over ABSURDE here for Willie Mullins and Danny Tudhope. He showed his wellness bolting up in the Sussex Champion Hurdle and then was denied a run behind Illinois in the Ormonde Stakes at Chester. This track will suit better and I think he’ll have these covered.
Alsakib was down the field in the Yorkshire Cup but was only actually beaten a length and a half and looks the danger off the back of that.
Chester 3.20
This is the easiest race JOUNCY would have contested for a while so he should have a great chance to get back in the winners enclosure. The yard are flying as they have been for most of the season and this son of Wootton Bassett is still unexposed especially over this trip.
There is a nice each way feel so I have covered FRANKIE’S DREAM too. He has won 2 of his last 4 and if this pans out he will threaten.
York 3.35
While this looks competitive I am fairly confident the top pair in the betting will fight this out. I prefer DOUBLE RUSH who has been hugely progressive and impressed winning on handicap debut at Newmarket last time. Freshened up he has more to come and could follow up.
Maelstrom is a serious looker and he has also been progressive landing the hat-trick at Haydock last month. He has more to come too.
