Newmarket 1.40
Obviously a bit of a guessing game with so many of these yet to see a racecourse. I am siding with a debutant in the shape of SNOW LIGHT for Charlie Appleby. This filly by Dark Angel certainly looks the part on paper and the yard have won this five times since 2016.
Orion’s Belt has experience on side having gone down just a length into fourth on debut at Salisbury and looks the biggest danger.
York 2.00
Promising Blue Point colt REMMOOZ overcame inexperience to win on debut and then followed up impressively at Doncaster again second time out. I don’t think he gave his true running when fourth in the Jersey Stakes and with more to come he can get back on track against these.
Old Cock finished last at Doncaster but then bounced back to win here beating Sisyphean so looks the danger off the back of that.
Newmarket 2.12
With 2 wins from her last 3 starts MISS INFORMATION is expected to take a bit of beating here. She is progressive and saw off Snellen in good style to win at Royal Ascot last month. She is up 6lb so life gets tougher but you wouldn’t rule out another big effort.
Miss Nightfall was given too much to do behind Never Let Go in the Sandringham and looks the obvious threat to the selection.
Ascot 2.22
This looks a straight shootout between the top pair in the betting and the vote goes to NEVER SO BRAVE who has been heavily backed now. He impressed beating Akkadian Thunder at Royal Ascot and while this is tougher he has more to give yet.
Haatem bounced back in a big way to win the Wolferton and if in that form should definitely make a race of it at the very least.
York 2.35
I’ve decided to chance GRAND GREY bouncing back here. He has struggled to last twice but has been highly tried so will find these much calmer waters. He is still unexposed in the main and if rediscovering some form could be a big player and at a price as well.
Jm Jungle is tough and likeable and arrives in great form so looks the one to give the selection most to think about.
Newmarket 2.50
Compensation awaits for luckless Royal Ascot runner-up MORE THUNDER here. He was denied just a head in the Wokingham and Marquand won’t want to watch that back as he got his reins in a tangle and that ultimately cost him victory. He should have too much for these.
Ten Pounds was narrowly behind the selection last month and looks the danger especially if getting a soft time of it up front.
York 3.10
The way ARCHIVIST got on top in the closing stages at this track last month was impressive. This Dubawi colt should only progress further up in trip here and he is taken to complete the hat-trick now. Hopefully they go hard as that will only help him further.
Thunder Run scored over C&D last time and is still improving himself so looks the biggest threat to the selection but probably needs more again.
Newmarket 3.25
This looks a good chance for BEDOUIN PRINCE to rattle off a hat-trick. He was particularly impressive when last seen in May and freshened up with this the target he should improve again and come out on top under Buick.
Raafedd is better than he showed in the Britannia and could bounce back and be the danger as that Newbury win was quite promising.
York 3.45
Al Qareem impressed seeing off Absurde to win last time and has now won 2 of his last 3 but I can’t help but feel he is a little short here and TABLETALK could be the value. The latter finished his race off well in the Hardwicke and might have a bigger performance in him.
Of the rest Samui was heavily backed at Royal Ascot but bumped into Sober. That is fairly decent form though so could run quite well.
Newmarket 4.00
Aidan O’Brien won this 2 years ago with City Of Troy and ITALY is expected to take a lot of beating here. This colt by Wootton Bassett won well at Leopardstown on debut and has been kept for this since. He’ll improve tons and should remain unbeaten.
Wild Desert won impressively on debut and then was denied just a head at Newmarket so looks the danger off the back of that.
Newmarket 4.35
I can see NOTABLE SPEECH taking a lot of beating in the July Cup! He drops back to 6f for the first time but doesn’t lack speed having won a Guineas and I thought he looks a bit unlucky behind Docklands at Royal Ascot last month. No surprise to see him a warm order.
Flora Of Bermuda was a very good third behind Lazzat last time and is holding her form well so could be the one to finish second here.
Ascot 4.50
Hopefully progressive sprinter REDORANGE takes out the lucky last. He impressed landing a gamble at Chester and then was only denied a length at Royal Ascot. This is obviously easier and he could still have more to come so looks the one to beat and is a nice price too.
Blue Day has been running well and was only denied 2 and a half lengths at Hamilton so if building on that rates the danger.
