Goodwood 1.20
Make no mistake there are plenty in with chances here but CASTLE COVE must be almost top on any shortlist following that impressive Chester win. He had a fair bit of ground to make up but won like a well handicapped horse and given he is unexposed should have tons more to come.
Defiance would be a big player if building on that Epsom fourth last month and Grey Cuban can also do better and is respected as well.
Goodwood 1.55
I thought DORSET was a big eye-catcher in the prelims before his debut. It was only inexperience that cost him making a winning start. He put that right winning easily last time and the form has already been franked. I get the impression he could be a really exciting horse.
Humidity is unbeaten and won readily at Royal Ascot last month. The form has taken a few knocks already but he is still the danger.
Goodwood 2.30
I’m not quite sure why JONQUIL is such a big drifter in the betting. There is some rain about and any that falls will be in his favour. I just think the ground was too quick last time. He was progressive before that and is still armed with bundles of potential.
Kinross isn’t getting any younger but could still threaten. Noble Champion is another one who could be bang there at the finish.
Goodwood 3.05
The market is a bit all over the place for this but I’d be confident ILLINOIS will take a lot of beating. He looked good winning at Chester and then bumped into Trawlerman at Royal Ascot. Back down to 2 miles will suit and he is hard to oppose on recent form.
Scandinavia had everything go right at Newmarket but could still be the danger. French Master must also enter calculations.
Goodwood 3.45
I really like one here at a price and that is ENCHANTING for Andrew Balding. This 4yo filly absolutely loves Goodwood having ran here 5 times over C&D winning 3 of them. She was impressive here on reappearance and then had excuses at Ayr last time. Should go close!
Shagraan has been running well all season and looks the danger. Redorange is another one who has been steadily progressive this term.
