Goodwood 1.20
I know AL AASY isn’t getting any younger but he won this last year and he is deservedly favourite to defend his crown. He likes this small-field scenario and if he gets the gaps he should prove hard to beat in the closing stages.
Arabian Crown is definitely the dark horse as he could have more to come over a mile and a half and the market likes him quite a bit.
Goodwood 1.55
With the Haggas yard still in such great form SAM HAWKENS could have a great chance to complete the hat-trick here. This progressive 4yo won readily at Newcastle and then followed up at Hamilton. He is up another 4lb but I can see this track suiting and he has more to come.
French Duke has won here before which is a big plus and if staying the trip will definitely be a danger to all. Duraji looks a big price as well.
Newmarket 2.10
A tricky nursery now and a tentative vote goes to SAYIDAH HARD SPUN for Richard Hughes. This filly has won 2 of her last 3 and showed a good attitude to beat another progressive horse at Ascot. She is up 3lb but has leading claims against these.
Awaafi made a winning start and then bumped into another nice type at Haydock so with more to come looks the biggest threat.
Goodwood 2.30
The tough and likeable TERM OF ENDEARMENT won this last year for Henry de Bromhead and now with William Haggas should have a good chance to defend her crown. She has run well the last twice and back at this venue will likely prove tough to beat.
Goodie Two Shoes is thriving right now having completed the hat-trick at Fairyhouse last month. She is the danger with drying ground.
Goodwood 3.05
The Stewards’ Cup is always a minefield but a chance is taken on CIRCE going close for Richard Hannon. This likeable filly has now won 3 of her last 4 and with Ryan Moore booked you get the impression they fancy her to run a big race here despite a 6lb higher mark.
Obviously tons of dangers likely headed by Elmonjed who just idled once in front last time. Hammer The Hammer well backed is also feared.
Newmarket 3.20
Momentum seems to be gathering surrounding SILENT LOVE and she is quickly turning into one of the best backed horses of the day. She impressed winning at Kempton when last seen and with more to come up to a mile and a half should take a lot of beating.
Karmology probably isn’t the most straightforward but could still threaten most. Meribella is reliable and is another one to note.
Goodwood 3.45
Kingman filly MUDBIR has won 2 of his last 3 and impressed beating Defence Minister at Sandown last month. He has more to come in handicaps over 7f and with the drying ground firmly in his favour he should run a big race under Jim Crowley.
El Matador is also progressing well arriving on a hat-trick and now handicapping could easily step forward again and get involved here.
