Ascot 1.35
The market has been a bit all over the place for the Shergar Cup opener but I’m happy to stick with VINTAGE CLARETS for Richard Fahey. He wasn’t at his best here last time but has some decent form at this track and if bouncing back will be hard to beat.
Manaccan won this race back in 2022 and is being well backed so could emerge as the danger. Seven Questions is also respected.
Ascot 2.10
Trainer Andrew Balding won this last year with Ranch Hand and they look to have a great chance of going back to back with SPIRIT MIXER here. He sprung a 25/1 upset beating Dancing In Paris to win the Northumberland Plate and if in the same form will go close to following up.
Fireblade is a consistent 4yo and ran well behind Many Men last time so looks the most obvious danger to the selection.
Haydock 2.25
This is more open than the betting suggests but I do think PROTEST will run well. She impressed beating another in-form horse in Atlantis Blue at Glorious Goodwood and on just her sixth start should have a good chance to follow up against these.
Shuwari would be a massive player if bouncing back to something like her best and Never Let Go is also feared on her Sandringham win.
Ascot 2.45
It might pay to take a chance with CLAYMORE now at a double-figure price. He had excuses behind Andaleep at Yarmouth so I’m happy to put a line through that. His win was impressive at Newmarket last month and if back to that form will have a great chance.
Night Breeze has been running to a consistent level and could be the danger. Insanity is another one expected to get involved.
Haydock 3.00
I can see DETAIN bouncing back and running a big race here. The rattling fast ground didn’t suit at Ascot and freshened up he could get back on the up here. The ground is Good but nowhere near as quick as last time so it should be fine.
Royal Dubai impressed beating Rashabar at Newbury last month and could be the danger. Haunted Dream is also respected.
Ascot 3.20
Sticking with the progressive PRINCE OF INDIA here. He has already won 3 times this season and was impressive at Newmarket last month. He is completely unexposed over 6f so with more to come again could follow up against this field.
Zayer was behind the selection at Newmarket last time but a similar run here could see him emerge as the main danger.
Newmarket 3.40
I know DANCE TO THE MUSIC has been a bit uneasy in the betting but she impressed winning on debut and I expect her to relish this extra furlong here. She looks an exciting prospect and can follow up here before going on to better things.
Midnight Tango ran well behind Fitzella at Ascot last month and that is decent form so she is the biggest threat.
Ascot 3.55
I’m pleasantly surprised to see TENABILITY still available to back at 15/8. He arrives on a hat-trick and just seems to be going from strength to strength. He is up in the weights but is unexposed and with more to come should prove hard to beat under Delphine Santiago.
Topteam is going for four wins on the bounce and looks the danger. Mdawi is another one who must enter calculations.
Ascot 4.30
There has been a big drift on MISS INFORMATION but I still think she could go close. She won well at Royal Ascot beating Snellen and that form has been franked since. She was well held at Newmarket but should bounce back returning to this venue.
Arisaig ran a cracker in defeat bumping into Classic at Sandown and if building on that looks the biggest danger.
