I did expect Born Ruler to take a bit of beating here but with him out now it could be a good chance for GINCIDENT to bounce back. He had won 2 of his last 3 before that blip at Yarmouth. With more to come over a mile and a quarter I think he will go very close.

His Finest Hour was a good second to Carnival Day at Epsom and if building on that again could emerge as the biggest danger.

With Renovatio Angel and Half Sovereign now out this looks a golden opportunity for BOILING OVER to open his account. He was probably the one to beat anyway but now this looks even easier he should have too much for these rivals.

Halla Bil Zain was well backed at Chepstow last time but failed to deliver. If bouncing back could threaten most here.

Novelette looks a nice horse so for LIL BROTHER to go down just over a length to that rival at Sandown last month was a big run. He has more to come and I know connections think a fair bit of him so he should have a good chance to get off the mark now.

Jan Steen looked promising before being highly tried in the Windsor Castle and should give him most to think about.

Now the penny has dropped for HILLTOP she could prove hard to beat here. She stayed on well to win at Lingfield suggesting this step back up to a mile will suit and with more to come I expect her to follow up against this field.

Bizou is interesting off her current mark as she was only beaten a length at Kempton and can do better yet.

Slowly into stride and green HARDY’S HERO made little impact on debut at Newbury. Given time since he could prove a different proposition now. The money is coming too which is reassuring and this colt should run a much better race now.

The danger might come from Pinatubo colt Zain Primus who is making his racecourse debut for John Butler.

I thought ARRAN had a squeak here but a word of warning he has been a brutal drifter through the day. Now around 18/1 in the betting he could still be worth backing each way. He was beaten less than a length here last time and the drop back to 6f will help too.

American Style bumped into Prince Of India at Newmarket and that is strong form so he looks the most likely winner.

This race has cut up a bit now so SPRING IS SPRUNG definitely stands out. He is eyeing up a hat-trick and if he gets dictating off the front they might struggle to contain him. He has been freshened up and clearly has plenty going for him again.

Duran was back to form when fourth at Chester and we know he likes it here so he looks the most obvious threat on paper.

Things didn’t work out for MERESIDE DIVA at York but she was beaten less than 4 lengths and if bouncing back off what looks a workable mark she could threaten a few here and she is a nice price as well.

Mostar Dreams also has a point to prove but again if she bounces back she could definitely be in with a shout in an open race.

This can go the way of LEADENHALL who went close at York before having excuses next time. He was back to form when fourth at Ripon and with this test likely to suit better he should have a great chance to get back in the winners enclosure.

Yaaser is a bit quirky but is certainly capable and if getting the gaps could be the one to give him most to think about.

It is a shame we only have a handful of runners heading to post now but it looks a great chance for STRING OF PEARLS to complete the hat-trick. She has looked progressive since going handicapping and up to 2 miles for the first time can only improve further.

Belgravian has won 2 of his last 3 and impressed at Doncaster last time so looks the obvious danger to the selection.
