This should be a great clash between OLD PARK STAR and Hurricane Pat but it is Nicky Henderson’s 6yo that I’m mega keen on. He beat Un Sens A La Vie on hurdles debut and then improved again to win emphatically at Cheltenham. He is clearly quite exciting.

Hurricane Pat impressed thrashing Soldier Reeves and co at Sandown and with more to come should make a race of it here.

The money keeps on coming for LA CONQUIERE and it is easy to see why. This likeable mare has won both starts over hurdles and was particularly impressive at Newbury last time. She is open to further improvement and looks worth keeping on side here and going forward.

The danger is probably Nurse Susan who has impressed regaining the winning groove and will be staying on well in the closing stages.

It was a shame to see MYRETOWN take a tumble at Newbury as he had won 3 from 4 over fences before that. I can see him getting back on track here and with more to offer in this discipline he looks a good bet to come away with the prize.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see Imperial Saint threaten most. He needs to get back to his best but is feared. Konfusion also respected in this.

It is hard to see how VINCENZO doesn’t win this. He was an excellent second to Panic Attack in the Paddy Power Gold Cup and then ran a blinder again to finish second last month with the winner dictating. He is getting backed and should justify favouritism.

Scarface was a good second to Etalon here last month and could reverse that form and be the danger. Bad is another one likely to be involved.

This is wide open but a vote goes to SOLAR SYSTEM as he should still be well handicapped and he can run well fresh. He seems to be getting nibbled at which is also reassuring and at an each way price he will run a big race.

Dalston Lad has potential to rate higher but he doesn’t seem entirely straightforward and this is tougher than Sedgefield.

The front two should dominate here and SURREY LORD seems better value than the favourite. He has won 3 of his last 4 and did it with a bit in hand at Kempton last time. This test should suit and I can’t see how he doesn’t go close.

Came From Nowhere did win stylishly at Hereford but this is a stronger race and this track might find him out a bit as well.

Impossible to look past IL ETAIT TEMPS here. He thrashed Jonbon in the Tingle Creek and seems a horse firmly on the up now. If he wins this well he will be a big player in the Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

Jonbon does still look the danger given he won this easily 12 months ago. Gidleigh Park has a lot to prove but still has potential.
