Ascot 1.15
This looks a great chance for MONDOUI’BOY to make it a perfect 2-2 over hurdles. He was well backed at Ludlow and made no mistake doing it impressively by nearly 5 lengths at the line. He is open to improvement and looks a horse to keep on side here and going forward.
Starzand looked promising winning on hurdles debut and has run well in defeat since so looks the obvious danger to the favourite here.
Wincanton 1.35
I know Rubaud likes it here but this testing ground would have to be an issue and that hands the initiative to the likeable ALEXEI. He won at Ascot and Cheltenham before running well last time and freshened up could still be open to further improvement.
Good to see Secret Squirrel back and he might even be the one to make a race of it with the selection if Rubaud struggles on the ground.
Ascot 1.50
With Thomas Mor out now this looks a great chance for THE JUKEBOX KID to win again. He has won 2 from 3 since going chasing and was always coming out on top at this track last month beating Montregard. He has more to come and is the one to beat.
Western Knight is on a hat-trick and impressed beating Kap Quest so could be the one who puts up the most resistance.
Haydock 2.05
The complexion of this race has changed dramatically with Kabral Du Mathan now taken out. The money has come for LUD’OR and it may well be gamble landed. He is unexposed over 3 miles and that was a very good run last time so he has likeable claims.
French Ship has been consistent and should run well again here. Henri The Second is also expected to get competitive at least.
Ascot 2.25
This is the most competitive race of the day on ITV Racing and I can see JOHN BARBOUR running well at a decent price. He improved to win at Uttoxeter and then bumped into one at Leicester. He was back to his best winning last time and could still have more to come now.
Plenty of dangers likely headed by Captain Teague who despite pulling up at Windsor could bounce back in a big way here.
Haydock 2.40
I think if RECKLESS SPENDING handles the ground he could take a lot of beating. He hacked up by 15 lengths at Kempton and looked an exciting prospect that day. Freshened up since with this race in mind he is worth sticking with under James Bowen.
Dalston Lad has been backed for the Skelton’s and arrives on a hat-trick. This is tougher but definitely going the right way.
Ascot 3.00
After catching the eye on penultimate start JOYEUX MACHIN just didn’t jump well enough last time before eventually coming down. He has been left off the same mark but with ground conditions in his favour he could run a big race under Tristan Durrell.
Montregard bumped into The Jukebox Kid here last month and that is decent form so he could be the biggest threat.
Haydock 3.15
I can see MYRETOWN running a massive race here. He bounced back from that fall at Newbury to finish fourth at this track last month but can still jump better. If he puts in a decent round of jumping they might struggle to live with him and the yard are in better form now.
Deafening Silence is still lightly raced and has run well on both starts this season. He won’t mind conditions and should run a big race.
Ascot 3.35
It was great to see JONBON back in the winners enclosure here last month. He stayed on strongly to win going away and if in that sort of form again he can beat last year’s winner of this race Pic D’orhy. He is short in the betting but with good reason.
Pic D’orhy ran a massive race in the Charlie Hall before disappointing last time. If bouncing back he is the danger but the ground is a worry.
