Kelso 1.10
This looks a great chance for TORNEO to get back to winning ways. He was denied just a head by the progressive Highlands Legacy at Windsor last month and a repeat of that would make him the one to beat in this.
Doyen Du Bar remains lightly raced for a 10yo but could still be the danger if bringing his best form here.
Doncaster 1.25
There might only be 8 runners for this but it is a fiercely competitive race. COOLANNA is 2-2 under Rules though and has looked promising so I’m keen to keep her on side. She goes up to 3 miles and if handling this quicker ground should run well.
Broomfield Aderra was a good third behind Analiese and won prior to that so could threaten most.
Kelso 1.40
This only attracted four runners last year and it is the same 12 months on. Grey Dawning won at skinny odds last year and PROTEKTORAT is even shorter this time around. He impressed winning at Windsor last month and should follow up granted a clear round.
Ain’t That A Shame looks the one to chase the selection home but it would be a big upset if he managed to win.
Doncaster 1.55
Mighty Bandit has impressed lately and is on a hat-trick now but QUEENS GAMBLE won readily at Wincanton last time and if handling the quick turnaround could be a great bet to follow up here as she is unexposed over fences.
Brookie could bounce back and be a player but Mighty Bandit is probably the biggest danger as the betting suggests.
Kelso 2.15
Ben Pauling and Ben Jones remain in terrific form and STARMOUNT looks a horse to keep firmly on side. He has won 2 from 3 over hurdles so far and was a wide margin winner at Wetherby last month. He has more to come and looks a nice prospect.
Le Beau Madrik has looked progressive and is looking to make it 3-3 over hurdles here so looks the biggest threat to the selection.
Doncaster 2.30
Things clicked for DARTMOOR PIRATE over fences at Lingfield and then he showed a good attitude to stay on strongly and follow up at this track last month. He goes up in trip again and stamina looks his strong point so he is hard to get away from.
King’s Threshold impressed winning at Newbury impressively and if returning in the same form will put up the most resistance.
Kelso 2.55
The Morebattle often throws up a big priced winning so CAPTAIN HUGO could be worth chancing at 12/1 here. I know he fell at Musselburgh but he had won 2 from 3 over hurdles prior to that and could still have more to come on handicap debut.
Cracking Rhapsody is on a hat-trick in the race but no value so perhaps Quaviste could be the danger off a light weight under Harry Skelton.
Newbury 3.15
I always look forward to these Veteran events and with the ground drying out OUR POWER could be a big player. He is back down the handicap so should get seriously competitive and if he jumps well will go close.
Eldorado Allen beat Mister Coffey convincingly at Cheltenham on reappearance and if getting back to that form could be dangerous.
Kelso 3.30
I thought GOOD TO BE ALIVE was good value for that win at Plumpton last month. He is improving with experience and the form has already been franked. If he steps forward again he could follow up against these under in-form connections.
Florida Dreams is obviously capable if bringing his best form so could be the danger. Frontier Prince is another one worth noting.
Newbury 3.45
After chasing home Panic Attack and then bumping into Glengouly VINCENZO deserved to get his head back in front at Ascot. He looks a horse at the top of his game right now and if in the same form here could follow up against these.
Twinjets unseated last time but was progressing nicely before that and is the danger. Blow Your Wad is another one who could get involved.
