The Brocklesby is always a bit of a guessing game seeing as we have never seen them run. Hannon took it last year with Norman’s Cay and should have a great chance again 12 months on with A BEAR AFFAIR. The money is coming and I’m happy to weigh in with the gamble.

Blixen Force is well regarded and should run well but was put in short enough. Dance A Jig is another one who could land a blow here.

Now the rain has come JASOUR should have a great chance. He ran a big race in the July Cup when last seen and is at his best when there is cut in the ground. He lacks a run but has won fresh before and looks a decent each way play.

Montassib is definitely capable here and Spycatcher won the race 12 months ago and should get seriously competitive again here.

Kempton 2.08

There is more to come from BELGRAVIAN this season and this could be a good starting point. This trip clearly suits him well and while he has gone up in the weights there is still scope for further progression.

Anniversary has only had six starts to date and with a run under his belt he could be the one to make a race of it with the selection.

After running well in defeat in Dubai CARRON showed a good attitude to win at Newcastle last time. He will be spot on for this and looks a bit overpriced if handling this softer ground.

Classic Encounter has the right profile for a race like this and Principality could be overpriced in terms of a place at least.

Great chance for the progressive EL BURHAN to win again. He has won four from eight overall and still has more to come over this sort of trip so with the ground ideal he is worth siding with.

Respond has the sexy profile coming into this and the money seems to be coming so he does look the danger here.

A straight mile is ideal for DOCKLANDS and I make him the one to beat here. He does like a strong pace to aim at so as long as this doesn’t turn tactical he should be coming home best of all.

Qirat is talented on his day so could run well but Treble Tee is another one that should run well and might be the main danger.

There was plenty to like about the way SURVIE won on stable debut at Lingfield and she wasn’t disgraced when third behind Royal Champion. These are calmer waters and she should have too much for these rivals.

Cathedral is a filly who should have further improvement to come and she looks the one to challenge the fav but may come up short.

There was tons of promise in that run from LA BOTTE on reappearance. He got caught wide and was only beaten a couple of lengths. He will improve bundles and under Spencer has a great chance here.

Eternal Force is going for four in a row and has to be feared. Rogue Diplomat is another one on a roll and should be bang there too.

With just the five rivals to beat CALANDAGAN is the one to be on. He has won his last four and has the best form on offers if he gives his running it will be good enough here hence his price.

Ethical Diamond won at the Breeders’ Cup when last seen and is on a four-timer himself so looks the most obvious threat.

Obviously a huge pot on the line for the Dubai World Cup and it is difficult to look past FOREVER YOUNG. He looks a cut above these rivals on all known form and if he gives his running I expect him to come out on top.

Meydaan has won 2 of his last 3 and is clearly thriving so should be the one to try and make a race of it and finish second.
