Plumpton 2.35
I can see SCORSESE taking a bit of beating here. He looks the obvious pace in the race and if he gets into a nice rhythm he could make all. That form behind Noble Park at Newbury is working out and he looks better value than Secret Des Dieux.
Edwardstone beat Master Chewy at Kempton and if returning to that form could emerge as the main danger.
Kempton 2.55
This looks a good starting point for GETHIN and as long as he drops his head early and settles he will be the one to beat. His form stacks up especially behind Liberty Lane at Newmarket and he clearly has plenty going for him.
Devil’s Advocate still has potential and wasn’t disgraced behind Calandagan and co when last seen. Looks the most obvious threat in here.
Fairyhouse 3.15
Despite being a big drifter I can still see KOVANIS running well here. His win at Clonmel last season sticks in the mind and while he lost his way after he still has potential to come good again here and at the prices is worth chancing.
Fierce Handay should run a big race off his current mark and deserves to be favourite. Blue Mosque is another one to note in here as well.
Kempton 3.30
I wouldn’t judge SERENITY BLUE too harshly on that run at Newbury. He has the size and scope to improve now tackling a mile and a half and he looks good value to bounce back here and run a big race under Jack Mitchell.
Bahadur has been popular and that is understandable seeing as he arrives on a four-timer and likely has more to offer yet.
Fairyhouse 3.50
The yard often target this race and KAWABOOMGA looks the one to beat. He has only had four starts in total and just three for this yard. I know he was a bit disappointing last time but he has more to come with that under his belt and is difficult to oppose.
Storm Heart seems to be improving all the time and ran well behind Jingko Blue at the Cheltenham Festival. Looks a live danger!
Kempton 4.05
This is a tricky race but LADY MARIKO should be going close. This filly by Kameko was in good form when last seen going down just a neck at Newmarket. She has more to come dropped back to 6f here and looks the obvious value in the race.
Fleetwater will probably go off favourite but she doesn’t look obviously well handicapped. Lady Roxby might be a greater threat.
Fairyhouse 4.20
There seems a lot of money for Energumene but he is a 12yo now and has enough to prove so I would want to oppose at short enough odds. SAINT SAM needs to improve on that run at Navan but has won at this track before and could surprise a few.
Found A Fifty looks the danger despite pulling up behind Il Etait Temps at Cheltenham. He also likes this venue which is important.
Kempton 4.40
I’m hopeful it’ll be gamble landed for FINAL NIGHT here. He justified strong support to win over track and trip last month and a similar performance may well suffice. He is up 4lb but Rossa Ryan rides again and he has plenty going for him once more.
Mr Baloo is likeable and has James Doyle booked for the ride so he could be the danger with the handicapper giving him a chance now.
Fairyhouse 5.00
Time for the big one now, the Irish Grand National! Haiti Couleurs won it 12 months ago for Britain and I’m taking a chance on THE JUKEBOX KID this time around. He was so impressive at Ascot when last seen and is still unexposed so could easily be ahead of the handicapper.
Lots of dangers as you’d expect in a race like this probably headed by Showurappreciation who looked a dour stayer when winning at Navan.
Kempton 5.15
I think it’s safe to say things didn’t go to plan for BROADWAY ACT when last seen but he is obviously a great deal better than that. Now with Oli Rix he could bounce back and despite the layoff is taken to come out on top here under Billy Loughnane.
Zoffandia looked good winning here on return and if bouncing back from that poor run at Chelmsford would be the biggest danger.
