I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR! The jumps season really gets going and there’s something for everyone on ITV this Saturday. Graded action from Wetherby, including the Charlie Hall and the bet365 Hurdle, a fiercely competitive card at Ascot and a Grade 1 at Down Royal.
I’ve been through all ten races with my selection and the main danger in each. Every price drops straight into your bet365 slip. Best of luck if you’re following!

Like most weekends this season, I think it’ll be a good day for team Skelton. PALAMON didn’t get the best of runs when second to Tapley at Plumpton, and he’d won easily before that.
He’s got more to come and this looks a good chance to get back to winning ways.

Jet To Vegas impressed on his return at Market Rasen and will run well again, but I prefer DANCE AND GLANCE for Anthony Honeyball.
He was progressive over hurdles and should have a bright future now he’s sent chasing.

My NAP. KATEIRA absolutely bolted up in this last year, thrashing former Champion Hurdle winner Golden Ace. She’s one to catch fresh and the yard are going great guns.
She made all last year but she’s happy to take a lead too, so if Ooh Betty goes hard that could play right into her hands. I’m struggling to see many weaknesses.

Ben Pauling’s horses are out of form, but VANDERPOEL could still take plenty of beating. He won at Ascot and Sandown over fences last season and has had a wind op since.
He should improve again this season and if he’s fit and ready he’ll go close off this mark. 9/2 each way.

Strong Leader just held TAKE NO CHANCES in this 12 months ago, but I’m backing her to get her revenge. She’s a year younger, really consistent and the yard are flying.
Strong Leader lost his way late last season and may need this for confidence. My Next Best at 11/8.

This track should suit CALIFET EN VOL and he’s got more to come over fences this season. He only won once last term but ran well in defeat at Cheltenham a couple of times.
I think there’s a bigger run in him and this looks a good place to start for Nicky Henderson, even with the yard a little quiet. 7/2 each way.

I think Pic D’orhy is on the way down, so he’s one to take on at a short price. THE REAL WHACKER finally got back in the winner’s enclosure at Perth last month.
He’s been a frustrating horse, but build on that and with only five rivals this could be a nice pot to pick up. Value at 9/2.

Henry de Bromhead won this three times in four years with the legend that was Envoi Allen. Now he has HEART WOOD, who was hugely impressive beating Jonbon in the Ryanair at Cheltenham.
I see no problems with him stepping up to three miles and he has a great chance to win first time out.

Only four runners and all have a chance, but the market has it right with RACE TO BASE. He bumped into Cosmic Connection at Sandown on his last start and can improve again this season.
He’s still largely unexposed and this track should suit.

A wide open finale and WILLIETHEBUILDER gets my vote. He carries top weight for good reason after bolting up at Sedgefield on his return.
He’s 6lb higher but 3lb claimer Toby McCain-Mitchell keeps the ride and he’s a horse in top form. 9/2 each way to finish.
My ITV Racing Win Double
No surprise both my best bets are trained by Dan Skelton. KATEIRA won the Mares’ Hurdle 12 months ago and the yard have won four of the last five runnings. TAKE NO CHANCES has more to give and can dethrone the tough and likeable Strong Leader in the bet365 Hurdle.
Add Kateira + Take No Chances double15/4KATEIRA is the bet of the day with TAKE NO CHANCES close behind. Add VANDERPOEL and CALIFET EN VOL each way at Ascot and THE REAL WHACKER at 9/2 in the Charlie Hall, and we could have a big Saturday. LET’S HAVE A GOOD ONE!
