Struck here off a 5lb higher mark as a 3yo and been knocking on the door lately finishing twice the last three times; won on the nod three starts back but lost it in the stewards room; that form worked out well since.
This looks a great opportunity for SIR HECTOR to get back in the winners enclosure. He is 2lb higher than for finishing second at Wolverhampton last time but still remains well handicapped on his old form and if building on that looks sure to go close. Obviously Deeds Not Words is respected chasing a hat-trick but the selection is good value in the market against and looks worth chancing. Of the rest Bernie’s Boy is a past C&D winner who could run a place but will need to better that last effort.

Good looking type who did well on the Flat and has made a good start over hurdles winning at Fakenham and impressively at Aintree; beaten by an exciting horse at Taunton last time and with further improvement to come looks a good bet to come out on top.
This is a good race and last year’s winning connections Alan King and Tom Cannon look to have a solid chance of repeating the dose. MIDNIGHTS’ GIFT has impressed so far over hurdles and could kick on again now. She was beaten 8 lengths at Taunton last time but Marie’s Rock looks an exciting individual for Nicky Henderson so that run may well look better in time. She’ll probably need to improve again to take this but there’s every chance she will. Galice Macalo looks the main danger if jumping round.
